nais⋅sance noun. a birth, an origination, or a growth, as that of a person, an organization, an idea, or a movement.

Gender: Female

Currently: Eating, breathing, sleeping Rune Factory 2

Favorites: Rune Factory 2 is my current obsession, though MFoMT holds a special place in my heart. I lurk around the Kingdom Hearts fandom quite a bit, though I've only played CoM and 358/2. My ongoing love since childhood has been Pokémon, both the video games and the manga series. There's Death Note, Liar Game, anything with psychological drama really. Prince of Tennis is a fading interest, but still manages to entice me now and then. xxxHolic, if only for the Watanuki/Doumeki interaction. Katekyo Hitman Reborn! is a favorite, as is Ouran High School Host Club. Oh, and there's Yu-Gi-Oh -- yes, a show about children's card games.

Current OTP Rant: I'll admit it: I have a fetish for school teachers. So when I discovered that Barrett and Mana were the teachers of Alvarna Academy, I immediately jumped on the pairing. And somehow, it works. They both share common interests while still maintaining the 'opposites attract' feeling that makes their relationship appealing. Both of them work at the school, so it may just be wishful thinking, but something is bound to happen because of it. Their interaction is more implied than outright shown, but it's still there; for example, Barrett asking Mana to help him decipher the stone tablets. Barrett in the second generation has obviously matured, becoming a responsible, if not stern, adult. Mana's patient, motherly aspects compliment this, though her enthusiastic personality also offsets his quiet one, lending a spark to their relationship; afterall, Barrett doesn't seem to be the type for idle chatter, but Mana's cheerfulness could keep their conversations from going dull.

Of course, one can argue that Barrett is not Mana's type. The game states it when Douglas asks the player who Mana's romantic interest might be: 'Barrett? Well, a lot of girls go for the bad boy type, but not Mana.' However, I don't see Barrett as a 'bad boy'. He's quite introverted and even rude in the first generation, but that seems more attributed to simple teenage rebellion. By Barrett's first request, when he begins to worriedly fret after dropping his book, one can see that he's not what he seems. In my mind, bad boys don't like to read heavy texts and philosophically debate the existence of God. In my opinion, he's more of the intelligent but socially-distant type, something I can see Mana trying to help him break out of during the generation shift.

In-Progress

Seams: Like Fern's unraveling stitches, their marriage was falling apart at the seams.
