![]() Author has written 5 stories for Mai HiME. Hello! I'll start off with the claim that I am not a writer, but simply an admirer of those who are. I don't plan on writing a lot of things, I just wanted to post one story. (Added later: Well, I obviously couldn't resist.) Can't say that my stories are good, but I enjoy writing and appreciate feedback. Due to long brakes caused by either laziness or real life problems, I often have to re-read what I've written to get a better feel of my own work. It's so FANFICTION in places that I just bang my head on my desk. To name a few bad spots: uneven pacing, shallow characterization and poor choice of words or expressions. I can't contribute that to not being a native English speaker or having a Beta and I'm seriously ashamed at times, because a lot of people have helped me improve and I can't show much for it. So let it be said here as well: thank you for reading! I am a (huge) fan of anime and manga and Mai-HiME is a year-long obsession of mine, though I have watched plenty of other shows. I'm a fan of shounen or seinen type of settings in anime - I love a story with not just good character dynamics, but with a fair share of action too. If I have to choose a favorite series that would indisputably be Gintama. For a favorite manga only I'm all for Claymore (though after reading the ending... not so much anymore). Books? I read whatever catches my interest and I don't have a specific genre I like best. Well, maybe I tend to favour fantasy settings more. I love watching movies and TV shows whenever I have free time (not slaving over uni projects or part-time). That's probably where my fanfic writing time goes... I also like playing PC games, though I'm not particularly good at it. Having fun is what matters to me most. And that is why I avoid online games or MMORPGs - too many people for me to enjoy my crappy gaming. My favorite series have to be Mass Effect and Borderlands, though I've a lot of love for other franchises as well. Mass Effect has influenced my writing (such as it is) and some themes in my stories more than once. Age: Screw this, I'm getting old... Gender: Female Current residence: Japan I'm a really picky reader. A bit hypocritical of me, I know, but if I read a couple of sentences and cringe more than once, then I don't bother with reading on. Looking at my oldest story, I think that maybe I should overhaul the whole thing someday. Not that later stories are much better, but damn, my first attempt starts horrifically. Back to reading though; I really appreciate the tags that people put in their fics' descriptions, since I have a certain degree of intolerance towards particular topics. Let's all take a moment to appreciate the rules on this site. If you want to chat or ramble, my mailbox is open for your messages. |
