Cari Ann Carlson Weber If you can find me (and good luck with that), I'm the girl locked away in her room, sitting on the floor amidst shelves and stacks of books, wrapped in a fleece blanket and writing on parchment with a quill pen and ink. Unfortunately, my bedroom is not located in Neverland, so I've been forced to grow up, at least in some respects--I'm 20 going on 4. I'm short, I'm plump, and I squint because my eyes are shot from trying to read or write in the dark. I'm cynical, sarcastic, pessimistic, and enjoy a dry, dark sense of humor, and somehow, for some unknown reason, my girlfriend puts up with me. I'm a computer nerd, a literature dork, and an all around geek. I suffer (pleasureably so) from that inane disease, Geek Lust, which throws me into a tailspin on desire for geeks and their related types. I write because I enjoy it and because it's good for my state of mind, as opposed to my actual (paying) job, which is slowly by slowly killing my soul, allowing me to rot from the inside out. Lovely, no? And despite all this, my girlfriend still thinks I'm sexy. Sizzle. I'm an avid reader/writer of fanfic, always have been. Teaches an entire new group of people the joys of writing without placing any demands, without getting all picky as to marketability. Not to mention it helps me stay sane while I'm at work. (Thank insert deity of choice here for 'Net access at work!) My personal fanfic loves: Stargate SG-1, Harry Potter, fairy tales, Lord of the Rings, Constantine, Earth's Children series, etc. And, for some reason unbeknownst to the likes of me, should you ever decide to toddle off into the real world, I highly suggest you read some Hunter S. Thompson, Kurt Vonnegut, or Tom Robbins. It'll do you good. "Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe there are fairies at the bottom of it, too?" --Douglas Adams |
