![]() Author has written 3 stories for Hakuōki/薄桜鬼, and Kamisama Hajimemashita/神様はじめました. Hello darlings, Grae here at your service. I'm not quite sure what it is I should put here, I know this is meant to be the FAQ section of FanFic authors but honestly I'm not really sure just what the Qs of the FAQ is so is suppose I'll just wing it and see what happens. Now I'm not going to give any personal information (I know, shocking right?) but I suppose it wouldn't hurt if I assured you of a few vague generalities that you could probably guess at anyway. Let's see...I'm human female that common modern societal norms dictates is of legal adult age, though I don't remember agreeing to that...seriously no asked me so as far as I'm concerned it doesn't count (take that common modern societal norms!). I have a deep and abiding love for beautifully written stories of any form (movies, television, anime, video games, graffiti on bathroom walls) as well for writing myself, though the beautifully written part is definitely up for debate. I'm a sociology geek with a tendency to try and recreate the world (at least the imaginative world) to make new and ever more complex cultures. I particularly like to try and expand in the grey zones of established media to try and see how far I can go without things becoming unrecognizable. I'm pretty new to FF as far as posting goes, though I have been writing and reading and generally creeping around the site for a long time. I love and adore having my work critiqued and I appreciate beyond words anyone who takes the time to drop a line or two on what they thought of what I wrote. In my mind there is no bad advice when it comes to writing, just more perspective. Here are some of my favorite quotes (for no real reason, I just like to share quotes): "Writing is like walking in a deserted street. Out of the dust in the street you make a mud pie." - John LeCarre "Dreams are the touchstones of our character." - Henry David Thoreau "It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would a be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad." - C. S. Lewis "Art is not a thing; it is a way." - Elbert Hubbard "I think of life as a good book. The further you get into it, the more it begins to make sense." - Harold S. Kushner "Imagination and fiction make up more than three quarters of our real life." - Simone Weil "Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly." - Anonymous "Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced." - James A. Baldwin "Action and reaction, ebb and flow, trial and error, change - this is the rhythm of living. Out of our overconfidence, fear; out of our fear, clearer vision, fresh hope. And out of hope, progress." - Bruce Barton "Always remember that the future comes one day at a time." - Dean Acheson "Common sense is not so common." Voltaire "Get mad, then get over it." - Colin Powell "Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death." - Albert Einstein |
