So much of the outcome of the Jack Hyde incident in Fifty Shades Freed was based on sheer luck. What if things hadn't lined up so happily for the Greys in the end? No pretty bow to wrap up the end of the trilogy in this alternate ending about loss, hope, and rebuilding after tragedy.

For me Allegiant was a huge let down. Here is how I think the ending should have went, these paragraphs are not 100% my own, this is a retooling of Veronica Roth's writing, it contains passages and paragraphs of hers and original passages and paragraphs of mine intermingled. I thought Veronica Roth was a genius for how she ended Allegiant, but I couldn't stop crying. It bothered me a lot that Tris died, and i needed to have a version of the ending where she lived and was happy with Tobias. so i wrote an extra chapter for Tris which would have taken place right after Tobias returns with Uriah's family, and then i re-wrote the epilogue.
