"...To live is to die. To die is to live. My name is Kikyō. I am a priestess who is unable to leave this world and reach the sacred place. No, that is not entirely the truth. Once I was a priestess. Now I am but a corpse with a cursed, false existence. No matter how much I desire to do good and help others, the truth is I live off the souls of the dead. Pure is Impure. Impure is pure. Good is evil. Evil is Good. Or is it?" - Kikyo

All the stories on this account are dedicated to the character from InuYasha: a Feudal Fairy Tale named Kikyo.

Kikyo is a heavily fought and warred over character. Some hate her with a passion that burns like the fires of Hell, others love her and set up shrines to her. Occasionally, some people are just meh.

I personally like Kikyo. She is, as TVTropes points out, very aloof. She is also an anti-hero, at least I see her that way. She does bad guy things occasionally, there is no denial that she stole the Shikon shards early on and gave them to Naraku. And in the anime, there is no denying she held a knife to Inuyasha's throat (not in the manga). But, she also does good things. She tends to wounded soldiers, she acts as miko to villages, she protected Kohaku, and gave him her last remaining light to let him live.

I did not originally like Kikyo, I was like those that hated her. She was evil in my eyes. But my opinion was changed by not only her death scene, but just in general as I grew older. I came to like her. While I like Kagome, I find that I like Kikyo more. She is simply a deeper character in my eyes, she has been betrayed and tricked. The quote at the top of my profile highlights Kikyo very well.
