Author has written 5 stories for Dragonriders of Pern series, Greek Mythology, Fairy Tales, and Hetalia - Axis Powers. (Profile renewal suuuuucks.) About me, personally: According to my iPod, I listen to a bit of punk, a bit of grunge, and alt. metal. However, I don't really trust Itunes genius at all, so don't rely on that: I'm generally pretty clueless. Some artists off the top of my head: System of a Down, Hinder, Papa Roach, Concrete Blonde, Florence and the Machine, er...others will come to mind, I promise. I read most dark fantasy, sci-fi, that sort of thing and also historical nonfiction. Oh, and mythology. Greek, specifically. In fiction, I admire (cough*worship*cough) Neil Gaiman and Catherynne Valente. And I really like the Children's Book, by, er, the author of Possession (is that the spelling?) and Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (I think). I also like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. I hate to be pessimistic and mean and oppressive about book opinions, but I really hate the Twilight series. I just don't find quality in them. Many of the stories that I really like on this website are written better than Twilight and Co. In historical nonfiction, I'm less picky. But I do (like always) have certain boundaries. I do not read American history. It doesn't interest me. Also, generally, stuff after the Cold War interests me less. I quite like military history, especially the World Wars. I'm most interested in Europe, to be honest. I'm American, but I speak French (though it's getting a bit rusty). I'd really like to learn about fifty different languages, which is sadly impossible. About Anime: Well, I have read most of Naruto and Bleach. I have read all of Deathnote, and watched a bit of it. I've watched about 20 episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist (not Brotherhood). I've watched Cowboy Bebop and quite liked it; I must admit, I cried through the last three episodes (I cry easily). And then, of course, there is Hetalia, which is my current obsession and anime love. I love faerie tales and I love character analysis. What I mean by that is I enjoy going into a preset story and prying a character open and poking and prodding at them. That sounds weird but it makes sense in my head. |
