![]() Hey, I'm Sarah! I love so much music your head would EXPLODE. Although I’m not close-minded to any style of music, my music taste mostly consists of the indie and metal genres. Some indie bands off the top of my head are Bloc Party, Cold War Kids, I Love You But I’ve Chosen Darkness, The Mars Volta, At The Drive In, Franz Ferdinand, and last but not least, Kaiser Chiefs. Some metal ones are Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Sex Pistols, Misfits, OLD Metallica, and Megadeth. From my taste in music and my style, I guess you can call me a punker. But I really am against any stereotypes people have of me. I love classic novels. I write really good English essays. I'm an honor roll student. Ah, it's late at night and I'm rambling. And sounding conceited. Apologies. As I've said, I am a "classic novels" type of girl. Favorites include The Scarlet Letter, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Tess of the d'Urbervilles, The Count of Monte Cristo, and Pride and Prejudice. I also like the "A Great and Terrible Beauty" series, the "Uglies" series (yeah, usually not a sci-fi kinda girl but the series is really good!), and brace yourself: law journals. Yes, law journals. If you don't know what they are, they're basically magazines about law and cases across the nation. Sounds boring right? That's most people's first impression but no, actually, since I am hoping to become a lawyer, I'm FASCINATED. I’d like to think I'm rather mature for my age. But yeah, I'm pretty set on becoming a lawyer: I'm in my school's Mock Trial team too! In case you didn't know what THAT was: it's basically a lawyer club/competition, where you do everything like you would for a real trial (ex: open statements, direct examinations, cross examinations, closing arguments, etc...) but the case is more condensed and shorter because we're in HIGH SCHOOL. Basically, I very literally compare Mock Trial to being a real lawyer. The coaches (which are lawyers) say so too. And we go to court wearing suits and all to present our case in front of an actual judge. Hah, apparently serious lawyer aspirations and a heavy metal girl don't usually go together huh? And only one more thing to go over. People have asked me why I don’t write anything. The answer? Although I’m not afraid of what people will think (well, that’s exactly what I am afraid of but there’s more to it), I am more concerned with originality. My grammar’s pretty decent and all, but I want to write a story that’s different, more original than others. I don’t want to be another boring writer. When I get inspired, be it by another writer, or what someone’s said, or by listening to music; I’ll write. But until then, I’m rather content with to just help other writers brainstorm and get over their writer’s block. So I'm basically a beta who doesn't meet the "stories" requirement, haha. April 2010: I'd also like to ask for story recommendations! For my regular correspondents, you know that I have not been on fanfiction.net in a LONG time. As such, my favorites only consist of the stories I read during my brief brief BRIEF Twilight phase in late 2007. Any other great stories would be greatly appreciated! |
