![]() Name: Mallory Background: so i'm kind of a mutt of sorts...you ready for this...deep breath...i am: greek, italian, irish, english, french, romanion, and 1/8 gypsy...whew ;) Books: I LOVE to read! I read anything and everything...my favourites are : Dark-Hunter series, Masters of Time series, Twilight (although i hate what it has become--my favourite characters are jacob, emmett, embry and paul. I am glad that bella ended up with edward though :)--), The Name of the Wind (for all those fantasy lovers out there this an amazing book and you should read it--its by Patrick Roathfuss--), Ghost Walker series,The Key series by Talia Gryphon,The Little Prince, The Lords of Avalon series, Wuthering Heights, the Carpathian series, anything by William Shakespeare, also love all of Tennyson's poetry (especially his in memoriam collection), the Immortal Instruments series...and the list goes on and on. Movies: Slumdog Millionaire,Monty Python Quest for the Holy Grail, King Arthur, Tristan and Isolde, August Rush, Troy...anything that has to do with another time period basically. Little bit about me: My friends think i'm antisocial because i would rather stay home and read than go to a dance (besides the fact that i can't dance, groping sweaty bodies having vertical sex on the dance floor and sweating walls, just isn't my thing). I am a huge history/mythology buff and love to hear any stories pertaining to the past, in fact i'd like to become an archeologist some day...what can i say, i'm a geek and proud of it! :). I guess you could say that i am eccentric, but seriously life would be really boring without a little eccentricity in the world! I am generally a happy person but i am extremely stubborn. My friends call me their little martyr, because i would rather be the one in pain than see my friends or loved ones in pain, i just think i am empathetic. I love reading and writing fan fiction but am too chicken to post any of my attempts just yet...maybe someday. "I wonder whether the stars are set alight in heaven so that one day each one of us may find their own" -The Little Prince- "We must recognize that the suffering of one person or one nation is the suffering of humanity. That the happiness of one person or nation is the happiness of humanity."-The Dalai Lama- Through violence, you may ’solve’ one problem, but you sow the seeds for another"-The Dalai Lama- "To conquer oneself is a greater victory than to conquer thousands in a battle."-The Dalai Lama- " In our struggle for freedom, truth is the only weapon we possess"-The Dalai Lama- "The silence scares me because it screams the truth"-unknown- "The death of one man is a tragedy, yet the death of a thouseand is a statistic."-unknown- "Time kills its greatest students"-Robin Williams- "The storm is raging on the rolling sea, and on the highway of regret"-unknown- Favourite Poem of all time: In Memoriam 54 "O, yet we trust that somehow good will be the final goal of ill, to pangs of nature, sins of will, defects of doubt, and taints of blood; That nothing walks with aimless feet; that not one life shall be destroy'd or cast as rubbish to the void, when god hath made the pile complete; That not a worm is cloven in vain; that not a moth with vain desire is shrivell'd in a fruitless fire; or but subserves another's gain. Behold, we know not anything; i can but trust that good shall fall at last-far off-at last, to all, and every winter change to spring. So runs my dreams; but what am i? an infant crying in the night; an infant crying for the light, and with no language but a cry." -Tennyson- |
