Hi there! Thanks for visiting my FanFiction page. I'm quite aware of the main problem(s) with FanFiction on the internet. I try to write the stories which I think, rethink, and rethink again from my own perspective. I don't wish to write stories about the death of Luke Skywalker, the origins of Force, or anything else gargantuan in the timeline. I respect professionals to handle this material with the integrity it deserves. I wish to focus on the stories that might be happening lightyears from the imperial assault on Hoth or the construction of superweapons. My stories surround imperial officers aboard customs check stations, deranged dark-side scientists, and drunken smugglers. They have strong personal stories, and important roles, but in niche ways. In my stories I try to keep true to a number of doctrines: 1) No Mary-Sue characters - When I was a lot younger, I placed myself as the super-awesome flawless Jedi Knight in my stories. Not anymore. I write my characters based off of interactions they have with other character types. I define characters on reactions rather than traits 2) I keep true to the Star Wars universe - While I am not extraordinarily informed about the fine minutia of the Expanded Universe (Legends), I am comfortably aware of the history spanning between Episode IV and VI of the Star Wars movies. I do tie in elements from both canon and Legends universes (as some elements might be the same in the future) 3) I don't write fantastical stories of Jedi warriors, and saving the universe - When a story involves the Jedi or anything similar, it is very respectful to the idea and theme of the Jedi/Force from the Original Trilogy movies (even though I love the Prequels too!). In short - I don't intend to rewrite galactic history, rather I want to colour in some detail in the sandbox 4) Reviews are key - Please tell me I am terrible if I am (albeit please don't troll in a nasty way). I just want to express what is in my head, and if it doesn't shape up, then it doesn't shape up. If you like the stories, but have suggestions, I'm excited to hear ideas. It makes the story better for anybody reading. Be sure to stick around! Jedi Joseph |
