Having at last admitted to having deep feelings for each other and with the injuries Dempsey incurred during their Cornwall investigation healing nicely, D&M are set to embark upon a new stage in their relationship. But Dempsey has managed to develop a few issues along the way and Harry has picked up a lame dog from her past. NB. This story follows on from Art For Art's Sake.

This story is related to The Burning with a different twist. Dempsey reveals Harry is a cop to Mara Giardino's team and the story moves on from there. The Partners are pushed into a difficult situation to stay alive and fight another day and their relationship is severely impacted as Harry is pushed out of her comfort zone.

Story set before they become a couple. Harry and Dempsey had not seen each other for 7 long years because of one accidental mistake. Now Dempsey is back in the UK and needs Harry's help to solve a crime. Can he persuade her to return to police work, and that the American she is thinking of marrying is not the right American?

The Park Lane Hotel is the venue for an illegal gambling ring and affords Dempsey and Makepeace an opportunity to re visit their past.

Makepeace is just out of hospital and Spikings is reluctant to put her on a proper case. Chasing ghosts for a senile old man is hardly SI10 work but the night shifts bring Dempsey and Harry closer. The opportunity is there but does Dempsey stand a chance?

Now that Dempsey and Makepeace are reunited in London work has to continue, but how will things work out for two of them together

Finally the two had declared their own love and discovered how long they had loved each other. Coltrane is on trial and Coltrane can only spell problems for Dempsey.
