I live in East Bay California, in the Suburbs with my parents and my younger, extremely annoying sister. I am often known as the quiet one in the family (my sister got all the talkative genes XP) and thus I spent much of my time reading (actual books and fanfiction) and watching reruns of Friends, TBBT, HIMYM, ATLA, Clannad, and SAO or scouring youtube for clips from Mock the Week and The Ellen Show. Besides Friends, TBBT, HIMYM, and ATLA, I can also be found fangirling over Harry Potter and LOTR. I have been frequently asked about my favorite genres to read, and my answer has always been: mainly fantasy, dystopian and/or sci-fi, often classics, original fiction, and a handful of memoirs and thrillers, and all with a dash to a bucketful of romance :D... so, basically, to sum it up, anything entertaining and well-written. (I LOATH cliché teen fiction) Naturally, the ensuing question would be, "what is your favorite book?" And my answer is equally complicated = Since I read so much, I don't really have a favorite book-there are so many wonderful ones, but rather, I have a list broken down into categories... Favorite Series: Harry Potter Series Artemis Fowl Series The Bourne Trilogy Shiver Trilogy Beka Cooper Series Trickster Series The Circle Opens Quartet The Protector of the Small Quartet The Circle of Magic Quartet The Immortals Quartet The Song of the Lioness Quartet Favorite Classics: Pride and Prejudice Jane Eyre Wuthering Heights Hamlet Favorite Sci-fi / Dystopian / Fantasy Novel (excluding ones in favorite series category): Ender's Game The Uglies Divergent The Hunger Games Favorite Fictions: The Perks of Being a Wallflower To Kill a Mockingbird Favorite Biographies / Memoirs: The Things They Carried Steve Jobs: A Biography Favorite Animes Sword Art Online Clannad & Clannad After Story Howl's Moving Castle My Neighbor Totoro Spirited Away The Princess and the Pilot Children Who Chase Lost Voices Nausicaa Valley of the Wind (Basically all Studio Ghibili Movies) Favorite Quotations: "Aurum Est Potestas" - Artemis Fowl “Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that’s no matter--to-morrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther...” (F. Scott Fitzgerald; The Great Gatsby, 180) “So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.” (F. Scott Fitzgerald; The Great Gatsby, 180) "Insanely Great."-Steve Jobs "Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. While some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do." - Apple's Think Different commercial, 1997 "That's been one of my mantras -- focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it's worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains."-Steve Jobs, BusinessWeek interview, May 1998 "And one more thing."-Steve Jobs We are what we think. "The world is a book. Those who do not travel read only one page" "Elegance is not standing out but being remembered." Giorgio Armani “After all to the well organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.” -Albus Dumbledore, HPPS "Fear of a name increases fear of a thing itself" -Albus Dumbledore, HPPS “It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.” -Albus Dumbledore, HPPS “It is our choices...that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” -Albus Dumbledore, HPCoS “Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open.” -Albus Dumbledore, HPGoF “It’s the unknown we fear when we look upon death and darkness, nothing more.” -Albus Dumbledore, HPHBP "Turn to Page 394" -Severus Snape, HPPoZ "Always" -Severus Snape, HPDH |
