5: Death the Kidd, from Soul Eater

-What can I say? He's fucking badass, whether it's on missions or as his Shinigami form, and he's an anime character with a brain, not to mention he reminds me of myself with the OCD and everything. If he's obsessed with symmetry and neatness, then he's already my kind of guy. Not to forget that he can use his Shinigami abilities, double armed weaponry in the name of symmetry, and has a flying skateboard named FUCKING BEELZEBUB that whizzes him around like a flipping magic carpet. If you didn't get that damn Seven Deadly Sins reference then you need to go and shit listen to some Vocaloid Evillious Chronicles.

AAAAAND his favorite number is 8. Kidd has some shit good taste.

4: Tsurumi Chiriko or Tsuruko, from Anohana

-As you may have guessed, I love the angsty, smart characters who actually have brains and use their minds to accomplish things, not big breasts or cute faces. Tsuruko is the embodiment of what I seek in favorite characters. She's smart and sensible, being the top of her class at a prestigious academy, and takes things very seriously. She's mature, observant, and wise. That, and she bottles her feelings up as to not let the guy she loves know how she feels because she knows he already has feelings for someone else. Her actions are mostly sad and depressing, and her role might as well be the smallest in Anohana out of the characters, but to me she has the most interesting character.

3: Yuno Gasai from Mirai Nikki, or Future Diary

-If there's anything else I love in a character other than smarts, it has to be yandere and angst. And Yuno is full of that. She's totally and completely obsessed with Yukiteru, having the Yukiteru Future Diary as well as pretty much doing everything in her power to be with him, whether it's murdering innocent girls who become friends with him, stalking him wherever he goes, to fighting for him and sacrificing her life so he can become a God. I love yandere, especially in Yuno, because she makes it so on-edge and cutting that you want to shit yourself because of how fucking creepy yet awesome she is. And it's impossible not to like her. She's the yandere-queen.

2: Yuki Nagato or Nagato Yuki, from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Yuki is a freaking alien super genius who can basically alter any type of data she wants, which gives her the power to, in my opinion, be on par with Suzumiya, in terms of altering reality. She's extremely smart, knowing exactly on the second time loop that Haruhi has caused the group to repeat time, and has lived through it and had even been aware what was happening. She's not a ditz like Asahina Mikuru and she's not a crazy, inconsiderate bitch like Suzumiya. Her presence is simply there, and she's a character I love and can never possibly hate. Plus, her lack of emotions is always a vacation from my angst, despite how I love angst so.

1: Russia, or Ivan Braginski, from Axis Powers Hetalia

-Russia has to be on the list of everyone's favorite characters, no matter what. He's my favorite character since a long time, partially because my love for European History (Including the Soviet Union and Russia) as well as my craving for angst. Russia completely fills the description of my favorite types of characters. Yandere with a hint of angst, topped with a past full of blood and insanity. His history depicts him as a land that was torn by bloody wars and horrible acts of humanity over and over again, which has given him the personality of a cruel child, as stated by Himapapa.

Plus he's fucking badass.
