Bran Quincy Not Too Late — a Walking Dead story OC DESCRIPTIONS Rani Chevalier 1. Born and raised in New Orleans, Rani grew up with a single mother and an older half-brother 2. Her mother’s name is Marie and her brother’s name is Gerard 3. Rani was 25 years old when the walker virus was gaining media attention 4. She was still living in New Orleans, as well 5. Her family lived in the French Quarter, so that’s where she lived up until the outbreak 6. Rani participated in a number of riots when the panic and hysteria set in 7. She witnessed firsthand just how chaotic the end of the world truly was 8. She witnessed peoples’ true colors come out 9. Leave it to the apocalypse to show people who to trust 10. Rani met her first group shortly after the safe-zones were established 11. They were some of a handful of survivors who chose not to go to the safe-zones 12. While learning some new skills along the way — and learning the true horrors of a post-apocalyptic world — Rani also learned not to completely trust other survivors 13. Cause seriously though, it’s the apocalypse 14. Some survivors can easily hide their true intentions, but subtly (or not so subtly I dunno) manipulate others in order to get by 15. Especially at the cost of other peoples’ lives OC APPEARANCE Rani Chevalier 1. On her mother’s side, Rani is Louisiana Creole 2. On her father’s side (whom she’s never met), she’s got Serbian ancestry 3. So Rani has a light olive skin tone and brown eyes 4. She has black hair and relatively skinny features 5. Because of the apocalypse — and the lack of proper hygiene and nutrients — Rani’s appearance is quite different 6. Her black hair is greasy and matted due to lack of proper care 7. He skin appears darker because of dirt, sun exposure, and general filth 8. She has bags under her eyes (and blood-shot eyes) due to lack of sleep 9. Before the apocalypse, Rani had a fuller body type and general features 10. After the apocalypse, Rani is skinnier because she doesn’t eat a lot 11. You get the gist of it, right? OC ABILITIES Rani Chevalier 1. Rani was in school to be a NICU nurse, so she has some medical training 2. When the riotings started, she stole some medical books to help expand her understanding and all that 3. She knows the basics of firearm use 4. She can use a hand gun to kill a walker and she knows how to reload a gun when necessary, though guns are only a last resort for her 5. Rani can use knives to kill walkers, but her main weapon is a spear 6. It’s not like a traditional spear, with a rock or metal blade at the end 7. Rani found a sturdy, decently long stick, smoothed it out the best she could without sandpaper and then used a knife to sharpen both ends of the stick 8. That’s her spear 9. She finds comfort in using it since it puts distance between herself and the walkers 10. Of course her other weapons will be necessary for closer combat and all that 11. Rani has decent hunting skills at best, they’re not fantastic but she can get small game from time to time (if she’s lucky) OC WEAKNESSES Rani Chevalier 1. Walker bites? Unless it’s on a limb, she’s dead 2. Shots or stabs or any other weapon-related injury to a vital part of the body? Dead 3. Illnesses/diseases? Depends on if it’s a chronic illness/disease or not. If it’s like a simple cold or flu, the chances of death are higher due to the fall of modern medicine, so there’s really nothing more to do but rely on whatever medication’s left or hope for the best. If it’s a chronic illness/disease, like cancer or heart disease or diabetes, then the chances of survival are not good since people with those specific illnesses/diseases need medication daily (maybe for the rest of their lives, depending on the illness/disease) to help keep their condition under control. Even then, the kind of medication that’s being used could suppress the immune system, putting the patient at a higher risk, or it could bring about certain negative reactions or whatever, which could further put the patient at risk — so I guess what I’m saying is if Rani or any other character can take basic medication to make the illness/disease go away, not anything that requires a lifelong commitment to that specific medication, chances of survival go up. Illnesses/diseases where medication is a lifelong commitment and being off it will worsen your health, the chances of survival are slim to none 4. Sex? Sure, there’s still sex in the apocalypse, but since birth control, condoms, and other means of practicing safe sex are no longer being made, then other people are put at risk for contracting an STD or getting pregnant. Pregnancy can be fatal for a number of reasons (malnutrition, stress, injury, etc. could lead to a miscarriage or a stillborn, though the show/comics haven’t really shown or discussed what happen when someone miscarries or has a stillborn); we all know that some STDs, like HIV/AIDS, can have fatal consequences if left untreated and need constant medication in order to maintain a healthy way of life (I suppose HIV/AIDS could fall into the “chronic illnesses/diseases” category), and a few other STDs may not be fatal untreated, but will cause extreme discomfort/limitations if not properly medicated; basically, sex in the apocalypse causes a lot of possibly life-threatening limitations 5. Weather? Without the proper precautions, she’ll be dead 6. Raw food (particularly meat)? If it’s not cooked properly, then she could end up dead 7. You guys get it, right? 8. Also, tell me if there’s any confusion and I’ll clarify anything ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Rani Chevalier 1. She has an adopted daughter 2. She’s very cautious of other survivors 3. She’d do anything for her daughter 4. Her daughter’s name is Eugenia 5. She’s trying to teach Eugenia the basics of survival and the education from the past world 6. Rani prefers to go by her middle name, Rose |
