![]() Author has written 18 stories for Dying Light, Final Fantasy VIII, Warcraft, Elder Scroll series, Captain America, Avengers, and Mass Effect. Hello all! My name is Lily, nice to meet you *waves*. Some tidbits about me: I started writing fan fiction in March of 2015. I have been a member of FFN since 2008, but have been an avid reader since sometime in 2004. The majority of my stories are very character-driven. I love writing about what makes people tick, and what ends up being the foundation for a relationship, platonic or otherwise. I may write in very well-known universes, for very well-loved characters, but I try to focus on them during events that people may already be familiar with. I'm 26, and am attending college for video game production/design, with a minor in creative writing. I write mostly Romance genre, paired with other sub-genres. I always send a PM to those who follow/favorite/review :) You can find information on my current WIPs and their update schedules below. You can find me on: AO3 - same pen name. Tumblr - same name: h34rt1lly. Instagram: h34rt1lly. Blog/Portfolio: thundaga[dot]net. Main WIPs: How (Not) to Catch an Obstinate Marquess: Hehehe, what can I say about this silly side-project that somehow morphed into a main project? I read The Outlaw Knight by staceums over this last weekend and was inspired to write another Western-themed FFVIII AU, because there are so few in the fandom. Well after trying to assign roles to the entire main cast, I realized that the idea was ridiculous because I have absolutely no interest in the Western genre. Somehow, the original idea transformed into a Regency era AU because I'm addicted to Regency era romance novels. I'm a hopeless romantic, what can I say. Anyway, expect a very light-hearted, fun story, with the characters still exhibiting their already-established personalities in the style of a Regency era romance novel. Obviously I've moved things over to the 'verse of the game, with locations and whatnot. But for example, Seifer and Squall are Marquesses, Quistis is the daughter of a Viscount, etc. Also, the chapter titles are quotes from Pride & Prejudice, with game references tacked on. The story title also stems from popular romance novel titles (and how ridiculous they are). 9/9/16 - On indefinite hiatus until my two other WIPs are marked complete. Betrayer Series #1 - Eye of the Beholder: By far, one of my biggest undertakings in my "fanfiction career". This series is set to have three installments, Eye of the Beholder being the first. It follows Eliana, my OC, through the events just prior to the start of the War of the Ancients, all the way through until the Sundering. For those of you who have read the War of the Ancients trilogy by Richard Knaak, my story follows that timeline, not the previous one. While you'll see a lot of familiar characters (ie: Brox, Krasus and Rhonin), my story focuses on Eliana's relationships with my other OC, Cytheas, Tyrande, Malfurion and Illidan. I try really hard to make Eliana and Illidan's friendship seem valid so that in the future, when things go awry, it'll make sense as to why and how they are even interacting, why their relationship is even plausible. Anyway, Warcraft is an intimidating fandom. There are a lot of people who are so gung-ho about the lore and while I love the lore, I don't sit in front of my fireplace, curled up with the WoW Encyclopedia if you know what I mean. I can only hope I'm doing the 'verse justice! If you're interesting in checking out some other Illidan fics, I highly recommend Gravitation by Neural Misfit and Just A Couple Animals by Mamadrae. Twelfth of Never: I've always wanted to write for the Elder Scrolls fandom. There are so many incredible stories for all of the games, but the one that inspired me originally was Grohiiki, Kodaavi by Opalbee. Then, I read Nightlain's Fear Not The Night and it sparked an idea about Vilkas as the Dragonborn, paired with an assassin from the Dark Brotherhood who received a contract to kill Vilkas. Obviously, as the Dragonborn, his presence in the world is pretty important so her contract gets pushed aside. It follows the main quest line, with some of the Companions and DB quests interspersed throughout their journey. As always, this is a romance story but for once, there won't be an overabundance of fluff. Fun reference, there's a specific way I picture Vilkas. If you're curious/and or want to see, PM me ;) Completed Fics (not including one-shots): The Draw: Written for The Successor Challenge 2017. An alternate "pseudo" sequel to Black Swan, in a universe where things didn't end so well for Seifer and Quistis. Drowning in Fire: Written for The Successor Challenge 2016, where the theme was "change". It's Seifer and Selphie-centric, with alternating POVs per chapter. The first half of the story is more so character development; we get to see Seifer and Selphie where they're at a decade after the war, and how they come back together and learn to forgive and move on. Then, the last half of the chapter is the more action-packed half where unexpected events emerge and they end up entering into an equally unexpected partnership. There's angst, random bits of fluff and humor, and a lot of words. It's also the first story Arenoptara and I have ever collaborated on. The Journey Home: Seifer!fic, Seifer x Fujin pairing, ultra-fluffy. This was my first "real" foray into writing and into the fandom. It's rather short, only ten chapters long and my writing style is rather inconsistent in the beginning. It isn't until around chapter five or six that I finally start getting into the flow that the rest of my stories have. It's post-game, only a few months after the events and kind of covers the overall "what next?" type of theme. Seifer is frustrated, lost, confused, and of course, his posse is always with him. I was listening to Maroon 5's It Was Always You from their V album and it kind of sparked a bit of head canon concerning Seifer and Fujin. Nice, happy, fluffy read. Aftermath: This was written for The Successor challenge (thesuccessorchallenge[dot]tumblr[dot]com) from August 2015. The theme was "What comes after?" and this is basically a darker take on the same sort of trope that The Journey Home covered. Rather than a few months' time, Aftermath goes from immediately after time-compression until a few years later and covers kind of a different set of head canon that I have concerning Seifer (so obviously, this is also Seifer!fic). There's a lot of psychological insight into both the game's events and post-game, his trial, a mission, some revelations...there's a lot going on. There will probably be a few spin-offs that cover plot holes from the four separate parts as well. I was really excited to take part in a fandom challenge and I'm rather proud of the end result. Closest to Home: Companion piece to Aftermath. It's a long one-shot that offers a bit of insight into the reasons behind Cid and Edea's decision to keep Seifer in the dark about his adoption, which is mentioned in part two of Aftermath.Black Swan: By far my favorite WIP, and the one with the highest word count! Black Swan is an angst-riddled Seiftis fic that is set three years post-game. The first few chapters are rather emotionally challenging/slow for the simple fact that they're needed to make Quistis feel...well, angsty. The plot picks up around chapter five/six-ish. The story is third person limited and follows Quistis. I've been having a lot of fun writing from Quistis' POV, as I feel like I don't see it happen very often. My Seiftis obsession was inspired by klepto_maniac0's New SeeD series, as well as many other amazing authors who write for Seiftis (Ms Starlight and staceums, I'm looking at you). This story has had a lot of big firsts for me (first big action scene, first emotional smut scene), and I'm really proud of the final product. 9/24/15: Black Swan now has cover art! I've commissioned it from the lovely and ever-so talented Brielle Porter. Check out her website! brielleporter[dot]com. Story Updates: Currently working on: Whatever I have time for, to be honest. |
