First of all english is not my first language, so be warned, i will make mistakes, a lot of them.

I'm italian, living near Milan, born in 1971. I'm a Read Only Member as i can read but forget about writing something. And that it's quite sad as i've got some little ideas in past years. So the only thing that i may offer to you is my favourite list... I should not say that i don't write at all as i write in C, java, PHP and some other computer languages, as i'm a programmer 8-). I like my job, in the first years (and sometimes even now) i was wondering why they were paying me to do it!

All of this changed in mid December 2013 when i wrote and published here my first piece, "Rhythms at the eastern fair" !

So, why i'm here ? At the moment (and the moment started in February 2005) just to read some HP fanfiction.

HP is not my main fictional interest, that surely would be Star Trek but i try to read only a few of them (in the end i've read many of them) as i could really lose myself in it if i let me. I also read some NCIS, some Friends, some Bones and some other random ones too.

For the ships... i'm a natural HP/HG shipper, i don't like at all DM/GW and i don't read slash (please warn readers about it beforehand so we could choose). I don't like SS/HG (starting from July 2006 that's not true anymore, i liked a few stories about them). Beside that i read quite all ships (even some RW/HG :-) ). For the lesser common ones i'm quite partial to HP/NT. I follow canon ships in Friends and i like TM/AS and some, if not too angsty, TM/ZD in NCIS.

Ships are a lot like rooting for sport teams, you choose the one you like but remember it is all done just to have some fun, nothing more.

October 2005

What i'm doing now ? I'm waiting for Half Blood Prince to be published in italian. Yes, we have to wait since 6 January 2006 to grab our own copy! I'm quite angry about that as i don't understand why it was not published in italian back in July (it was immediately published in so many languages, why not italian ? The previous ones sold well here!) and the big news slipped out in summaries and profiles and so i knew them without having read the book. Why i'm waiting it to be published in italian ? First of all i have the other five so i MUST have them all (i was almost going to write 'catch them all' ), second i've chosen to read fanfiction in english and the sacred words of JKR in italian so i can distinguish better what is canon and what is not and, obviously, to understand it better.

July 2006

Ok, obviously i got my copy of HBP (and, even if it's quite incredible... i waited 4 days after it was published before buying it!). And after all what i have to say about it ? I didn't like it at all! No, not for the ship things, it was always quite clear how things would go in canon, not for the things that happen in the book, but about how it was written, with special regard about the first half of the book. It seemed like as JKR was trying to block everything a fanfiction author could start a story from. Worst of all the six ones.

July 2007 (warning DH spoilers in next lines)

Another year... another book to wait :-) This time i'm not sure i will wait for the italian translation of DH and having it spoiled as HBP. Obviously i have my ideas about who i think will die in it and the first i have is about one (yes only one, is the best worst thing to do) of the twins die in an attack in Diagon Alley (not at the wedding, that will be the last moment of peace before hell).

November 2007

I got Deathly Hollows in english the day after it was published as i could not wait 1/5/2008 (that being the publishing date of the italian translation) and loved it! I had big problems finishing it as i was saddened by it being the last one. It took me 2 month to read it while i could have done it in less than three days (i have to work, sleep and eat too!). Now i'm waiting for the italian translation for other family members who don't know english and to get some of the damned too many wood names right :-) I'll repeat myself it was great (the best with Goblet of Fire) even if it had many loose ends, a couple of illogical things and the epilogue has absolutely the wrong size, too long to be a short one and too short to be a long one. And i was not too wrong about my only prediction about it. ;-)

I've just read about "The Review Lounge" forum and community and as i don't think i can really be faithful to their chapter ... i solemnly swear to review most the fics I read, regardless of the number of reviews, its age, or anything else. So, at least, i support the review revolution. :-)
I got DH translated in italian a couple days after it was published (1/5/2008) and i'm waiting the right moment to read it. In the meantime my subconscious started thinking that DH wasn't so great as i thought while reading it.

Another book, another silly note to add here. :-) I've just finished to read Eldest and Brinsingr in a ten days span and i must admit they are way better than the first one, Eragon. Now i can even go read some Inheritance fanfiction without being spoiled (at least until the fourth book come out in english and not in italian. I like the nature/use of magic in this saga a lot more than the magic in Harry Potter... what Snape said in book one about silly wand waving ? :-) The Inheritance kind of magic make a lot more sense.

A note not about a book but about a movie, the new Star Trek one. I loved it, really loved it. And i think that my "acceptance" of the big changes in the Star Trek canon that this movie made is mostly due to reading a lot of fanfiction in past years. Without that i think i would have abandoned the theater after a few minute from the beginning. I still have some problem with the Enterprise herself (she seem built by Apple, at least the 'noble decks'... all that white!) and the silly creatures found on the ice planet (the ugliest one has a bad Jar Jar Binks aftertaste).

I've sadly fallen for another fictional universe. :-)
During the past Christmas festivities i've fallen for the Bones universe, watching all the episodes in less than three weeks and then turning to fanfiction for some more. Nerd power! My only comment... what kind of drugs have they taken before writing the last episode of season 3 and (even more) season 4 ?

I never realized so much how strong UST is as a plot device ;-)
Two of my favorite tv series just became (at least to me) a lot less interesting/fun after that was resolved. I'm speaking about Bones (Bones/Booth) and Castle (Castle/Beckett).
