I can remember going to my local comic book shop (which is still there, being run by the same guy) to buy the manga, and seeing all sorts of different series. I had no idea there were so many. Naturally my eyes were as wide as saucers, and as I headed to the counter (with the first MKR book and sailormoon pocket manga) I knew that this was the moment I was hooked.

I'm a cynical single left-wing weirdo now, but I still like to remember my first expiriences with anime. In the course of going through middle and high school, I saw many series that ranged from excellent to crap, and even started an anime club with several of my friends. Although I have plenty of stories about the trails and tribulations I went through over the years, let's more on to more important stuff.

Favorite Series: Rurouni Kenshin. After arbitrarily picking up the first DVD while visiting my local Suncoast (which is strangely right next to my comic book shop...) I fell in love with this series. It's very historical, and has a great storyline. I'm even more obsessed over the manga...
Fav parings: Kaoru/Kenshin, Kaoru/Enishi, Saitou/Tokio
Least fav pairing: Kenshin/Tomoe *shudders* I could write a thesis paper on what is wrong with this couple. Seriously.

2nd: Dragonball Z. It's such a classic, and it's so much fun to watch!
Fav pairings: Vegeta/Bulma, Vegeta/Pan, Goten/Bra, Goku/Bulma, Trunks/Goten (even though I'm not a fan of yaoi, they fit well together...)
Least fav pairing: Goku/Chichi. Could two people be more wrong for each other?! Gohan/Videl. Self-explanatory.

Escaflowne has to be rated high on my favorite anime list too. (although maybe that's because I bought the ultimate edition of the movie, as well as the entire series...) Check it out- the series is especially good, but the endings to both the series and the movie will make you tear your hair out. Oh well, watch it any way. Just skip the last 5 or so minutes. You'll end up a lot happier that way.
Fav pairings: Van/Hitomi, Allen/Marlene, Amano/Hikari, Millerna/Dryden, Dilandau/anyone (Dilly's so cute!)
Least fav pairings: Millerna/Allen, Van/Merle

I like Cardcaptor Sakura, Lone Wolf and Cub, Inu Yasha, MKR, and Cowboy Bebop as well; I also like Farscape and Buffy though they aren't anime (I can't believe they cancelled both!). Did I mention I like Star Wars too?

New stuff I'm into: Mars, Utena, Harry Potter!
