The year is 1912 and America is returning home from a diplomatic trip in London. England decides to book the young nation a ticket on the Unsinkable Titanic. God himself can't sink it, they say, but America knows that if you challenge God, He will answer. Whatever the outcome, this is a trip that the young country will never forget.

America is a strong and thriving country, but Alfred lives his life invisible to the other nations. He grows up alone and apart from them, and after several centuries he's able to observe them in secret and safety. Despite warnings from his government, however, his curiosity drives him to get close enough to attract their attention, whether he wants it or not.

When Plagg loses a Chat Noir, it's usually to outside circumstances. Even a cat runs out of lives eventually, and sometimes the odds are just stacked too high. All too often, Tikki loses her Ladybugs to themselves. The downsides of bad luck are straightforward. The consequences of good luck are far more insidious.

The American colonies were found by the British, but their personification wasn't. Raised by a Native American mother and then a Boston colonist family, Alfred F Jones's life takes a much different path without one Arthur Kirkland. Human names, mostly AU (also not abandoned, don't worry!)
