Bonjour. My penname (as I will not disclose my true name) is RISKEDidentity. No, I am not going through an identity crisis, nor do I know anyone who is - I thought it was neat and came up with it on the spot. You may call me Risk, or rather, Risque, of course, both have very different meanings, both I quite enjoy with a morbid sense of fascination and humour.

I am an artiste, in everything but name. I take pride in what I do, whether it be literary or visual, and in order to gain feedback and grow, I show the portion of the world who appreciates such things.

CROSS ZONE:

Summary: Zack Fair, Jack of All Trades, unfortunately, was never able to get into the SOLDIER program because he could not pay the entrance fee. So, instead he finds himself under sector seven when the plate falls, and thus, his journey with AVALANCHE begins.

Reason for Title: There are a lot of reasons for the title, I didn't put a lot of thought into it, however there is a main reason. Cross Zone was a fancy way of me saying that lives (ambitions, etc, etc) will cross paths. This is especially true due to the fact that a lot of the characters that have lead roles are either dead or missing in canon (Zack, Angeal, Genesis, Kunsel) so therefore 'Cross Zone' is the place where these souls cross with the ones that were already there and thus create conflict. It also relates to crossing interests, i.e. conflicting ambitions (this will become especially relevant in... ten or so chapters, maybe.)

If you want a simple definition: It's a cross between Crisis Core and Final Fantasy VII.

I got this idea because, well, I absolutely adore Zack Fair. He is one of my favourite characters of all time. In fact, I liked him so much that while I was an avid Aeris/Cloud fan when I coughwatchedcough Final Fantasy VII (I'm playing now that its on the Playstation Store, but I'm stuck and when I get stuck I usually ignore the game for months). So, when I started watching Crisis Core, I didn't like Zack because Aerith (and I will use Aerith in my stories because that was what her name was intended to be, and it sounds better) in my opinion fit with Cloud better.

Well, Zack changed my mind. I now adore him, but I can't bring myself to screw around with his death. So, instead, I decided to completely remove that. Zack now never got into SOLDIER, the reactor near his home- ahum. Okay. Enough spoilers. I have thought it through very vaguely, because my memory of both FFVII games is vague, however good news to everyone! It means that the storyline should be more or less completely original. Since I'm not going to watch all of FFVII again and I'm, like a said, stuck in the game (I WILL get Vincent!)

Things That Will Not Appear In Cross Zone:

1) Jenova masquerading as Sephiroth. I know its canon, I don't care.

2) Deepground. I don't have the time nor the inclination to review all the facts about Deepground. There may be mentions of its existence, however unless I'm feeling incredibly bored I won't look up the entire plot/background story. I may make parts of it up.

3) A lot of the Final Fantasy VII plot. I will add the major plot points in, however a lot will change and thus the canon plot won't be relevant any longer. Most of the danger won't be 'end-of-the-world scale' it will be personal vendettas because I personally believe that people are inherently selfish (not that its a bad thing). The plot will be completely unique however, and due to that it will be far darker.

Warnings:

1) There will not be overtly sexual situations. It will eventually be alluded to. (Pssh, in maybe one hundred thousand words from now).

2) This is a very dark fic. Humour is thrown in in order to balance it out, however this IS a warning: This story will delve into very serious issues and I personally have no mercy on the main characters. Each and every one will go through severe emotional trauma, and will learn to move on.

3) Swearing, profanity, extreme violence, torture.

A lot of warnings will not be mentioned due to potential spoilers.

This is probably the only fanfiction I will ever write, I don't even know why I AM writing it, because grade twelve is a bitch and applying to universities is a stress. However, the idea floated around too much. Now I HAVE to. That being said, Cross Zone will more than likely end up being an 'epic' fic. If any information is grossly inaccurate from canon I would like it if you would tell me in a review. If I can I will change it.
