Since they were kids Melinda May, Tony Stark, and Richard Parker have been the best of friends, family really. As they grow up things change, Richard has a son, Melinda adopts a superpowered daughter whose family has been killed, gives birth to another, and they all become heroes, remining close until Richard dies too soon, leaving his son to be raised by May and Tony.
