After hunting illegally one day, a near-starving Katniss Everdeen is caught and almost has to pay the price. Peeta has always tried to get the girl with the secret arrows to notice him, and he figures that now is a good a chance as any. AU/Everlark - No Games, but Panem is otherwise the same.

Modern AU. There are three types of people in Dawson, Texas: those who are trying to flee, those who embrace their small town fate, and the Mellarks. Mellark Ranch; largest cattle ranch South of Dallas, employer of ranch hand, Katniss Everdeen, and home of The Ohio State Buckeyes' running back, Peeta Mellark. And Peeta Mellark is coming back home today.

"Katniss, please just do this for me! I can't just throw out a ticket to attend a Mellarco baking course!" Italy, bread and burnt fingers: what starts out as a favour for Prim, turns out to be a trip that Katniss will never forget. AU.

In the midst the Great Depression eighteen year old Katniss needs a miracle. Her Papa is dead, Mama has just been hauled off to the asylum, soon she'll be evicted, and Prim put into the child's home. WW1 Veteran, Peeta Mellark, gives her the means to save Prim, he offers to be her husband 'in name only'. The only hitch is; Katniss thinks she loves him.

"Those eyes," she murmured. "My princess?" asked the king quietly, alarmed. "I know you," she said clearly, her voice ringing out like a bird. Peeta dared not breathe. "I walked with you once... upon a dream."

After suffering a serious injury at the hands of his mother, Peeta begins treatment with Mrs Everdeen. When Katniss is asked to help with his treatment things take an unexpected turn. AU set in District 12.

Peeta Mellark wanted Katniss ever since he could remember...and he was not as innocent as everyone thought.

I just stand there and take this Peeta guy in. He's attractive that's for sure. He probably knows this too. He's in swim trunks with tacky orange palm trees on them. He has a pair of Ray band sunglasses sitting on the top of his head. His smile that shows a huge portion of his perfect white teeth would make any girls panties drop. And it's for all these reasons that I hate him.
