I am new to creative writing and am hoping to improve my skills here. I am writing for a selfish reason, to write the stories that I have always wanted to see on fanfiction.net, but have never seen (at least the way I want them). Now before I continue, I would like to ask that my page remain flame free. I am a person with opinions just like everyone else. However, I tend to have very strong opinions, which will mostly likely appear in my profile. My account name alone should be a hint of what's to come. So yeah, please read on with an open mind and resist any urge to attack me through the Internet if you disagree with me. Age: 18. Gender: Male. Height: Five eleven. Weight: I don't care. Dislikes: YAOI!! Now I do not have a problem with male homosexuality. The problem I have with yaoi is that it is not simply gay males. It's existence is the byproduct of hormonal thirteen year old girls, who twist whatever it is they see. My problem with yaoi is when the yaoi is NOT CANON. I cannot stand the slash that disregards characters, and rapes canon to create some crazy fangirls wet dream. I came to fanfiction.net, on a mission. I will destroy the evil yaoi that plagues fandom. Never again will Naruto and Sasuke's BROTHERLY relationship (they even say they are like brothers how much more proof do you need) be turned into evil SasuNaru because of an ACCIDENTAL kiss in episode 3. For god sakes Goku and Vegeta are both MARRIED and have children. THEY ARE NOT GAY! Yugi and Yami are alter ego's of each other, partners, and friends. It is not possible for there to be anything else. They are the missing halves of each other. Thinking they are homosexual is like thinking your left side of your body is in love with your right side. It doesn't make any sense. If you actually play the game you see quite clearly that Sora and Riku are just FRIENDS. They might be incredibly close Anime friends, but they are still friends. Notice how KAIRI is the most important person to Sora, not Riku accept the facts fangirls. I will go into this more when I talk about pairings. I hate when people clearly disregard any facts for their own messed up beliefs. If there are any genuinely gay pairings in anything and there is absolute PROOF then I will listen. However, without proof there is no yaoi pairing that does anything less than rape whatever anime or manga it is targeting. Favorite Pairings: Every single one that is in my avatar. Notice how they all actually happen or have incredibly strong support which I will argue to prove. (WARNING: Spoilers up to most recent releases of everything that follows. If you are not caught up/finished with everything that I talk about you may be spoiled. The only exceptions to this is Evangelion, as I will not discuss Rebuild.) SoraxKairi: I have already mentioned how Kairi is the most important person to Sora. Not to mention the emotion in both of their reunions. Kairi even suggested running off with Sora and leaving Riku. Now if this isn't enough proof for the fangirls I will add one last irrefutable fact. Kingdom Hearts is a DISNEY game. What Disney franchise doesn't have true love between a man and a woman. MickeyxMinnie, AlaadinxJamsine, EricxAriel, BeastxBelle, SimbaxNala. Heterosexuality is fact in Disney! Sora and Kairi clearly have feelings for each other and I have little doubt that by the time Kingdom Hearts 3 is made there will be a kiss and confession. Fangirls, you cannot deny the Disney! *Ok. It seems that the fangirls are even dumber than I thought. I will have to go over this very slowly. First of all, Kairi is the most important person to Sora. Sora as well as Donald and Goofy say it. It’s also the reason Saix kidnaps her, to fuel Sora’s rage because he cares about her. Do you recall the scene where Sora literally gets on his knees and begs Saix to let him see Kairi? That’s how worried he is when she gets kidnapped. Another thing to remember is the cave drawings. When Sora enters the Secret Place and sees drawings he and Kairi made of each other when they were kids, he decides to add to it. He draws him giving Kairi a Paupu Fruit. The Paupu Fruit is an important item from Destiny Islands. It is said that when two people share one, their destinies will become intertwined forever. If you recall, Sora and Riku race in the beginning with sharing a Paupu with Kairi at stake. While this plot point is dropped, it shows that both Sora and Riku like Kairi. At the end of Kingdom Hearts, we see Kairi in the Secret Place where she sees the same drawing. Upon seeing Sora’s addition, Kairi cries a single tear with a look on her face that is a combination of happiness, flattery, and loneliness. She then adds further to the drawing with her image also giving Sora a Paupu. In other words, Kairi is reciprocating Sora’s feelings. In the end of KHII we see, Sora see this drawing and look at it with a smile on his face. The Paupu clearly has connotations of love, and this does show in all of the scenes. While the love does not have to be sexual, demonstrated by the Wayfinders, based on the Paupu fruit, used by to show the familial love between Terra, Ventus, and Aqua in Birth By Sleep, in this case it does add further evidence to Sora and Kairi’s relationship. If you want even more scenes that show the pairing, you can remember the end of Sora’s third visit to Halloween Town. He pictures himself dancing with Kairi. No need to explain that. There is also Kairi giving Sora her Wayfinder showing her trust in him. She never doubts that he will return and keep his promise as seen when they are separated in The End of The World. At the end of Chain of Memories, Namine tells Sora to remember his most precious person, who Namine tried to replace, if he wants to retrieve his memory. This is Kairi. Kairi is the key to Sora’s memory. Do I also have to remind you about when Kairi tells Roxas and Namine that she and Sora will be together every day? There is also the plot point about Kairi’s letter. As stated by Riku, when Sora read the letter, it awakened a strong light in his heart, which created the Door To Light. This is followed by the scene where Kairi welcomes Sora home, and he returns the Wayfinder. The fact that Kairi caused Sora’s light as well as her grabbing Sora’s hand clearly show how much they care about each other. I am having difficulty explaining why these have meaning because the emotion is so blatantly obvious. I don’t know how to convince fangirls who cannot even see that all of these scenes show SOMETHING! I will return to Sora and Kairi’s relations later, but first I must deal with the problem, Riku. The way I see it, there are two major scenes that contribute most to the slash. The first is when Sora reunites with Riku in the World That Never Was. In this scene, when Sora realizes the Ansem, The Seeker of Darkness, who rescued Kairi is Riku, he falls to his knees crying. This looks even worse for sanity when we compare it with his reunion with Kairi a minute earlier. Aside from being awkward, Sora kind of just walks up to her as if he saw her yesterday. Then she runs up and hugs him, and the shipping actually happens. Compared to Riku, Sora does in fact react far less to Kairi. However, there is a very good reason for this. When Sora last saw Kairi, she was safe back on Destiny Islands. Even though she had been kidnapped recently, he knew she was okay. On the other hand, Sora hadn’t seen Riku since he closed the Door To Darkness over a year ago. Sora has been searching for his best friend/brother for that entire time. During that time, he knows that King Mickey got out, but won’t talk about Riku for some reason. It makes sense to say that Sora thought of the possibility that Riku died in the World of Darkness. After all this time, seeing Riku ok, even if he is in a different form, would naturally cause an overflow of emotions in a fifteen year-old. Given these circumstances, it is fair for Sora to react more strongly to Riku than to Kairi. It is like comparing the love between lovers and brothers; they are like apples and oranges. The other problem scene is the events after the final battle of KHII. Because Riku was severely injured during the fight with Xemnas, Sora has to carry Riku out of the Nothingness. Sora does this by draping his arm over his shoulder, the most common and effective way to carry someone. The problem does not come from this, but how Sora supports Riku. Sora pulls Riku up by his BELT. Not his ass, his belt. Look closely at the scene, Sora’s hand is too high on Riku’s back to be touching his butt. His fingers are over the belt. Due to the PS2’s limitations, the scene is not completely clear, but if people turn their brains on they can see the scene is completely innocent. The scene at The Dark Margin doesn’t help my point either, because the two talk about how they were jealous each other when they were younger and how they are lucky to have each other as friends. The problem with fangirls is that they think any feeling of love between characters, yes this is love, translates into anal sex. Their love is platonic and is only a bromance. The two are completely straight and have no sexual attraction to the other, but are still family. I personally always loved this concept. Showing such strong bonds is one of the things that anime excels at. However, the fangirls twist this into their perverted fantasy and create something truly disrespectful to both Square Enix and Disney, who put lots of effort into creating those characters, and their bonds. Honestly I am starting to think that these slash fangirls are legitimately insane. How they can focus so much on the brotherly bond between Sora and Riku, and ignore everything that happens with Kairi is beyond me. Believe me, I have tried to reason with these fangirls, but there is no hope. There is no logic to what they say. The reason I have gotten for neglecting Kairi in the relationship is to call her a whore. How the fuck is she a whore! At the beginning of Kingdom Hearts, two guys like her. Over the course of the games, we have seen that change as she clearly loves Sora, and he clearly loves her. They have done nothing less innocent then hug, and Kairi has not so much as looked at another boy throughout the series. On top of that, she is a Princess of Heart, meaning she is pure. How in hell does that translate into whore? The only answer I ever got was her KHII costume. This reasoning is completely bullshit for a number of reasons. Number one, THIS IS JAPAN! Everybody wears ridiculous costumes, and for girls, 75% of the time, these costumes are designed for fanservice. I get it, she is wearing a short skirt and no pants, but is that her fault? She doesn’t choose her clothes. When a character has only one, or a few, outfits one has to wonder whether the clothes are part of the character. If the character does not have outfits that change daily, a uniform they have to wear, or it is clearly shown that they have numerous identical outfits, the clothing should not be used to judge the character. People need to suspend disbelief. Think about it, Sora has only worn two outfits throughout his years of adventure, the second of which might be the same physical clothing only changed by magic. That means that Sora has been wearing one outfit for over a year. Not only does it not become smelly or dirty, it never gets damage. Kingdom Hearts is a video game. Sora never stops to take a shower and wash his clothes. Heck we rarely see him eat. Clearly these rules do not apply. The same goes for the clothing; it is not a factor to the characters. Therefore the characters should not be judged by what they wear. And to further prove my point, I have been told that the most “whorish” thing about Kairi’s outfit is the big zipper down the middle. In case you weren’t paying attention to anything in your entire life fangirls; THIS IS NOMURA! That guy has a huge-ass zipper fetish. Every character he designs has to have at least 10% of their outfit made up of belts and zippers. I mean look at Pete, he has an ass-zipper. Sora, Riku, Roxas, DIZ, Ventus, Aqua, Terra, and Organization XIII all have outfits that prominently feature zippers, and that is only naming a few. As I said before, this is to be blamed on her character design, not her personality. Kairi is not a whore! Blame Nomura for making her wear something like that. Kairi has also fallen under criticism for being a damsel in distress. While there is validity to this claim, it is really the fault of the plot, not the character. How is a regular 14 year-old girl supposed to stop the forces of darkness from trying to consume her, causing her heart to seek refuge in Sora’s? How is she supposed to fight beings of ultimate darkness without weapons or magic? Kairi is actually one of the smarter of this type of character because when the main character tells her that he is going somewhere too dangerous for her, she actually listens to him. She couldn’t have helped in the End of The World. This is not sexism, or her being a useless character, it is that she is not a fighter. In KHII, Kairi gets kidnapped multiple times because she is attacked by Organization XIII, all of whom are incredibly powerful beings. Even if Kairi had spent the entire year between titles training, which she couldn’t because the events of Chain of Memories erased he knowledge of the events of the first game meaning she wouldn’t know to train, she would still only be as powerful as Hayner at best, which is still useless. The Heartless and Nobodies have extraordinary powers. Donald and Goofy have been training for years, and all the other characters you encounter that can fight have reasons for their strength. Sora is only able to fight because he gets a Keyblade, which allows him to learn magic, and eventually to rape the laws of physics. However even this took time and experience. Kairi never had the opportunity to gain any of these powers. Even when she gets her Keyblade in KHII, she is still a rookie. While extenuating circumstances keep her from fighting against Luxord, Saix, and Xemnas, this is for the best. These were all extremely powerful opponents that she was not ready to fight, even with a Keyblade. Hopefully in the future Kairi will be a playable character and can become a stronger fighter. If this happens, some of the hate might hopefully disappear. Well there, I have now explained every SoraxKairi moment and why the pairing is canon. I have also shown the flaws in fangirls shipping SoraxRiku. I have destroyed whatever petty arguments they could ever use against Kairi as a character. If this doesn’t reach a single fangirl, then nothing will. RoxasxNamine: Athough we do not see much between them, they are Sora and Kairi's Nobodies. They even say that they are together whenever Sora and Kairi are together Basically SoraxKairi=RoxasxNamine. God I hate math. Once more I will attack the crazy fangirls. SoraxRoxas is physically impossible. Not to mention they are the same damn person! Logic people! As for RoxasxAxel, there is this thing called friendship. It is possible for two guys to be close to each other without being gay. How many fanfictions were written because Axel says he would miss Roxas? There is a difference between friendship and homosexuality. Friendship! Teamwork! Anime! NarutoxHinata: Here is where the flames come and where things get tricky. It is true that this pairing has not become canon yet as the NaruHina vs. NaruSaku war is ongoing. However, both of these pairings defeat the abomination that is SasuNaru. You have no idea how aggravating it is to talk to people and hear them say that the kiss in the beginning is proof of SasuNaru, despite 400 chapters worth of development afterwords and Word of God Kishimoto explicitally stating it was a JOKE. Now I will begin my argument for Naruhina (again no flame war here please, I am only putting out my opinion, if I wanted a war I would go to a Naruto relationship forum). First of all it is fact that Hinata is in love with Naruto. She confesses to him which makes that undeniable also removing the biggest obstacle in their relationship, her shyness. Due to the circumstances of this confession, we have not heard Naruto's response. This response is the key to ending the war. However we will sadly have to wait a long time before Naruto confronts Hinata. The plot and Sasuke are diverting all of Naruto's attention at the moment, (not to mention I believe Kishimoto is afraid of advancing Naruto and Hinata's relationship due to potential fan backlash and will keep it until the end were it will probably fit in better). As for the NaruSaku side of things, we will also have to wait. It is true that Sakura's position as a main character has led to many possible NaruSaku moments after 437. For example, the hug after the Pein fight, and Sai's confession to Sakura about Naruto, (although this is Sai we're talking about, I don't trust his understanding of emotions, especially love). We even got a confession from Sakura. However, we have also seen that the confession was FAKE. Sakura openly stated that she said it in order to try and distract Naruto from Sasuke so she could kill him (great job doing that by the way Sakura). Not to mention that Naruto could see right through her false confession, which considering how much of an idiot Naruto is really says something about Sakura's sincerity. This fake confession is actually more of a step away from NaruSaku. What is even worse is that Sakura still loves Sasuke. Despite the fact that it has been 3 years since her shallow fangirl crush betrayed Konoha, went to their greatest enemy for the sake of revenge, nearly caused the death of the entire retrieval team including Naruto, joined an even greater enemy of the entire ninja world, became the biggest douchebag in all of anime, lost any chance at redemption by attacking Karin, became even more consumed by revenge, tried to kill her TWICE, and overall went batsh*t insane she still has feelings for him. What The Hell! Sakura is officialy even stupider than Nartuto, who beliefs that he needs to die with Sasuke if he can't save him *facepalm.* Not only did Sakura lie to Naruto in order to get the chance to kill Sasuke, she then drugs her entire team in order to fight him alone. This results in another transparent confession, and heartless Sasuke immediately going to kill her, forcing her to be saved by Kakashi. Then when Kakashi has the perfect opportunity to kill Sasuke due to his overuse of the Mangyeko, Sakura tries to kill him, but can't do it! Thus she needs to be saved by Naruto and Sasuke gets away, which will lead to Itachi's eye transplant and him getting even stronger. Sakura, YOU FAIL!!! I have lost all respect for her that she gained during the Sasori fight. She is even worse than the innefectual cheerleader she was in part one. Naruto deserves far better than the dumb fangirl who ruins everything and can't let go of her obsession with the biggest a-hole in all of anime. (Yes I know I am bashing Sakura but seriously after these recent chapter, how could anyone defend her!) Long story short, Hinata genuinely cares for Naruto and is able to grow because of his positive influence, while Sakura is merely a fangirl. NaruHina has actual character development while NaruSaku is simply settling for and being settled for. GokuxChiChi: They get married and have two kids. It happens. Deal with it. Nothing really to say here. GohanxVidel: Same as the last one. Married with children. Yaoi against this simply destroys canon. KiraxLacus: Hm, let's see there's the ring, the hugs, the kiss, the risking court martial to return Lacus to Zaft, the betraying her country to give him a badass mecha, the constant protecting, the living together, and lets not forget the naked openings together. Not to mention the dozen or so other intimate moments I forgot to mention. Also in the Special Edition Destiny movie ending of the series there is the scene of their reunion, IN FRONT OF EVERYONE! Do I need to spell it out for you? AthrunxCagali: Happens in Seed, but is questioned in Destiny. First of all screw AthrunxMeyrin! Meyrin is nothing but a fangirl who is jealous of her sister and obsessed with a guy to the point of betrayal. There is nothing real between them. It is true that Athrun and Cagali are separate at the end of the series, but the reason for this is because the war was more important than their relationship. Athrun even said that there will be time to fix there relationship AFTER the war. Just because we do not see the outcome, there is far more support for AthrunxCagali than AthrunxMeyrin. Just watch the the openings and endings for even more proof. Another thing that has come to my attention is that in the ending of the final Special Edition Destiny movie you see Athrun wearing an Orb uniform. The implications of this should be obvious. This was a fix put in at the end to solve the problems of the initial break up between Athrun and Cagalli. From what I understand, there was some kind of dispute between Cagalli's voice actress and the creators during the creation of Destiny. This dispute caused all of the AthrunxCagalli problems. By the time that the Special Edition movies were released, the dispute had been settled. The Orb uniform is a retcon for the conflict. It is common for Special Editions of Gundam to fix problems with the original series that interfere with the creators' intentions, (remember how Mu's helmet was edited out of the Strike's wreckage when they decided to bring him back in Destiny). AthrunxCagalli always has been and always will be. The only reason it was questioned was because the creators allowed their emotions to get the best of them. ShinnxLunamaria: They hug, they kiss, they are together in the end. Not to mention Stella is dead and Shinn is not a Newtype. There is nothing to stop this pairing from happening. Once again I will invoke the Special Edition movies for support, which show a lot more interraction between Shinn and Lunamaria early on, instead of having it appearing at the last minute. It also stresses how Shinn thinks of Stella as a younger sister. This is different from KamilexFour people. YusukexKeiko: No matter how much anyone wants to deny it IT HAPPENS. Watch the damn show. I would like someone to count all the YusukexKeioko moments. I would do it myself but I am too lazy. Even though I don't know the number there are definitely dozens of them. Accept the canon. On another note I would like to bring up that Yuyu Hakusho is one of only a few animes with a male-based audience to have a LEGITIMATE gay pairing. That would be SensuixItsuki. I have no problem with this yaoi pairing because it ACTUALLY HAPPENS, (althought it is still a creepy pairing because of the necrophilia). No other pairing in the show is yaoi. Especially not HieixKurama, because fangirls cannot tell the difference between friendship and anal sex. LelouchxC.C.: Where do I begin? They kiss twice. C.C.'s wish is to be loved. After learning this Lelouch says she should die smiling and that he would make her smile. The implication is obvious. Also, notice how C.C. cannot deny it when Kallen asks if she loves Lelouch. Not to mention every other romantic/comforting moment the two spend together. The only question about there relationship is whether or not Lelouch survives in the end. Considering if he does, the two of them are together for eternity, the couple seems inevitable. For more information on the whole Lelouch survival thing, please see my fanfic, Beginning Eternity. CloudxTifa: Once again the door to flames has been opened. This applies to both FF7 and Kingdom Hearts. First of all, in FF7 AERITH IS DEAD. Because of this Cloud and Tifa get far more development, and there was not enough shown in the short amount of time given for CloudxAerith to have happened before her death. Also in KH2 we see that Tifa is Cloud's "light." Also Word Of God has declared this couple canon. ZackxAerith: In Crisis Core we see quite clearly that they already had a romantic relationship. Especially considering that they are dead together, they can be happy. TidusxYuna: Four words. PLAY THE DAMN GAMES! DomonxRain: Pretty self-explanatory. Evident throughout the entire series. If you have absolutely any doubts watch the totally ridiculous but still supremely epic ending. It is undeniable. TamakixHaruhi: Tamaki says so himself that he and Haruhi are the main characters and that this is a romantic comedy anime. Therefore they will end up together. Ouran is a yaoi PARODY. None of the characters are actually gay. It is a joke. Fangirls need to learn the difference between what is serious and what is comedy. If you believe the yaoi you are just as crazy as the moe girl guests, and trust me that is not a good thing to be. SimonxNia: THIS IS CANON! I will not even bother to defend this. Accept the fact. Anyone who denies this pairing and its tragic ending denies Nia's sacrifice and is taking a crap all over Gurren Lagann. It makes me sick that anyone would try and soil something that oozes so much pure epicness. Anyone who denies this pairing for yaoi, (I won't go into the whole SimonxYoko thing after, but I disagree with that too) is horrible for making me feel so angry about an anime to the level of fan dumb. I feel bad about myself that people could make me wish bad things to happen to them over anime, but insulting SimonxNia kind of makes that happen! NettoxMeiru(LanxMayl): This is canon in both the games and the anime. In the epilogue of the game they get married, case closed. The anime does not explicitly state it, but it does have many hints. The most noticeable hints are the date episode and the oh so many times they hug, quite passionately as well. Due to the sheer length of the anime I could not possibly list all of the hints. If you want to see the hints, please WATCH the show. Due not jump to conclusions or read into things wrongly, that is how yaoi starts. RockmanxRoll(MegamanxRoll): I am only talking about exe here. The game has only a few sublte hints that are difficult to explain, but they are there trust me. The anime has a much larger number of Rockman and Roll moments. For a list of these moments visit the Rock & Roll section of www.rockman-exe.com. Not to mention the RoxasxNamine logic applies to this as well. The relationship of the operators corresponds with that of the Navis. One final note that I only recently learned from the Battle Network bonus in Star Force 2. Netto's diary explains how he made Rockman Jr. for his son using data from Rockman and Roll. That technically means that Rockman and Roll have a child together. While I do not know exactly how all of this stuff works with Navis it is safe to assume that Rockman and Roll's relationship coincides with Netto and Meiru's SubaruxMisora(GeoxSonia): The anime clearly favors Subaru and Misora as they become incredibly close, while travelling and adventuring, especially in Tribe. However, the anime portrays Luna as nothing more than a Rockman fanboy, and it takes her a full season after knowing to admit to herself that Subaru is Rockman. However, playing the games has led me to believe that the anime did not treat its source material with very much respect. When you consider the plot mess that was Tribe and the fact the Luna's feelings for Rockman are greatly exaggerated, I do not think the anime can do much more than augment the in game arguments. In the games the relationship is much more of a love triangle. While granted the characters are kids, and anything more than crushes and innocent feelings would be awkward, it is okay for this to be proof of their relationship in the future, (for example, NettoxMeiru which buds innocently as kids, but they get married in the future.) It is obvious that Subaru and Misora like each other, to the point of going on dates and being made fun of by their EM partners. Also they were each others first Brother which holds value in the Star Force universe. While Luna is downplayed in the games, only having a small crush on Rockman for saving her, and accepting Subaru's identity easily, although she would never admit it. It is clear that Luna also likes Subaru. However, even though she is techinically a closer friend than Misora, I cannot help but notice a barrier between them. Aside from Luna's annoying bossy additude, in the english version Subaru always calls Luna Prez. The fact that he doesn't address her by her first name, which never happens in an american translation of something from Japan, just makes their relationship awkward. Not to mention that I hate Luna because of how annoying she is. Subaru and Misora just seem more natural together, and while Misora's idol status does not in any way keep the two apart, Luna's president status does, and this is proof of their very different bonds. This is also apparent in the optional beach scenes which support each pairing. The SubaruxMisora scene shows reciprocated feelings, while Luna's scene is ones-sided. While the optional nature of these scenes makes them unable to be absolute proof, they can still be used as secondary evidence. Another point. While I do not know if any SubsaruxTsukasa yaoi exists, and will not check for the sake of my sanity, I will still argue preemptively. Subaru has anime guy love (as in Scrubs) syndrome. His betrayal by a friend has a huge impact on his already traumatized mind and causes him to briefly turn emo. Just because they become friends and what not does not mean anything else. Also, I am sure that becaue yaoi is messed up, it will portray them at their current age. I remind you these kids couldn't be older than 11. EW! SetsunaxFeldt: I originally did not support this pairing. At first I believed SetsunaxMarina. In fact I did not even know of this pairing until episode 22 of season 2. The flower scene seemed to come out of nowhere and I was at a loss for words. However upon rewatching Gundam 00, I noticed another SetsunaxFeldt scene in episode 24 of season 1. I only noticed the moment after being aware of the couple. In this scene we see Feldt put a letter in the Dynames' cockpit, written to the deceased Lockon. This is the first, of two, times Setsuna and Feldt talk. While she was mourning, Setsuna, was trying to comfort here, despite his lack of social skills. Considering this and the scene where Feldt gives Setsuna her flower, think of that what you will, and tells him to live, one can make a valid argument for SetsunaxFeldt. However, there are still more moments involving Setsuna and Marina, the pairing most people originally saw. However, in retrospect, Marina appears more like a mother or an older sister to Setsuna than a lover. Marina tries to protect Setsuna from war, treating him like a child. In fact she does not even truly understand his feelings until the letter in the final episode of season 2. Not to mention the age difference makes the older sister/mother relationhsip more plausible. There is still the movie ahead of us to either prove me right or wrong, but until then, the race is close. AllelujahxMarie: Anyone who doesn't see this is deaf, blind, and stupid. KuronoxTae: Kurono says so himself, because of Tae he is not alone. She saved him from becoming a mindless killing machine. He loves her, there is no denying it. To quote Hbi2k's Kurono "I'm gonna redeem my humanity, through the love of a good woman with normal sized boobs." Especially considering the second Kurono removes Reika from the picture, there is nothing to stop this couple. TsukunexInnerMoka: Despite the harem nature of Rosario + Vampire, it is quite clear that Tsukune is much closer to Moka than any of the other girls. However, considering the Outer Moka is as bland, useless, and uninteresting as a wet dish rag... a beige wet dish rag (sorry Hbi2k), existing only to suck blood and pad the chapters, I cannot accept her relationship with Tsukune. On the other hand, there is actual depth to the relationship between Tsukune and Inner Moka. Considering this is a harem anime, it should be quite clear there is no yaoi. However, Tsukune and Inner Moka are the only ones with a meaningful relationship, unlike the other shallow relationships. AshxMisty: First of all, Ash was way closer to Misty than to any of her cheap imitations. May has Drew and Dawn can go *bleep* herself. Second of all, there are oh so many moments that support this pairing, especially the second movie and the beginning of the Orange Islands saga, when the two of them are without Tracy or Brock. Even once Misty leaves Ash constantly thinks about her and mentions her. If you want even more proof, listen to Misty's Song(yes that is the song's actual name, weak). You can find it on youtube. This is the final piece of overwhelming evidence. And for those sick minded people who would still destroy any semblence of what is canon in the anime, remember one thing. POKEMON IS A CHILDREN'S SHOW. There is a reason I don't watch this anime anymore, it is only on this list for nostalgic purposes. But seriously why on earth would any of the crap you fangirls can come up with be in a children's show. Logic people, come on. HeeroxRelena: People need to stop hating Relena, she is not useless. She promotes peace but she is also the ruler of the freaking world. I could understand if people hate Marina, but Relena can actually do something. There is a reason Heero cannot kill Relena, always saves her, and stays with her after Endless Waltz. It's because he loves her. Duo knows what he is talking about. When even the clueless character can notice a pairing, you can tell it is canon. YugixAnzu(YugixTea): I have said this before and I'll say this again, Yugi and the Pharaoh are not gay. Alter egos, yes. They complete each other, yes. Two sides of the same coin, yes. Gay lovers, hell no! They inhabit the same body! IT'S IMPOSSIBLE! Anyway, as I was saying, members of a love triangle involving Anzu, yes. The whole two minds inhabiting one body makes it difficult for Anzu. Who does she truly love, the small and shy Yugi, who she is close friends with, or Atem, the stronger, darker, mysterious alter ego who is more concerned about his past, than a relationship? Although at the begining Anzu, seems to like Atem more, by the end her feelings for Yugi become stronger, evident when she starts rooting for Yugi in the final duel, but cannot understand why herself. On the other side, Yugi clearly has feelings for Anzu, while Atem thinks of her as a friend, same as Jounouchi and Honda. Especially considering that Atem belongs in another world, and dies at the end, YugixAnzu wins by default. Score one for the little guy. JounouchixMai(JoeyxMai): Watch the first season, the episode with Jean Claud Magnum, Mai and Jounouchi's duels against Malik and the Doma arc. If you still believe in JounouchixKaiba, despite the fact that they HATE EACH OTHER, you're a crazy yaoi fangirl, you need help. JudaixAsuka:(JadenxAlexis): First off, Johan is just a friend! He is the most badass character in all of GX(at least in the Japanese version), do not ruin that with canon raping yaoi! Also, Yubel is something completely different. While it is true that his/her/its love for Judai is canon, it is not a romantic love. The fact is that Yubel is a little screwed up. The whole pain expressing love is different than masochism. Even when she mentions Judai and Johan's love it is not on a romantic level. Yubel cannot umderstand sexuality and physical love. Think about it, you don't fuse with someone you love romantically, it just doesn't make sense. It is possible for two guys to be really close, to the point of love, but not be gay because love is not always romantic or sexual. Yubel never gets a chance during the show to actually talk about Asuka, so it is not fair to try and make Yubel the deciding factor. Despite the complaints that Asuka is just a fanservice character, she does play more children's card games than Anzu. As with many other pairings, it does not actually happen, just has very strong implications. Then again it gets far more implication than any yaoi pairing. They get engaged, sort of, in one episode for god's sake. Not to mention their tag duel in season four, watch the show, damn fangirls! YuseixAKi(YuseixAkiza): This is obvious. Yusei saved Aki from herself, and that f*cker Divine. That was interesting. Now she has become more boring and normal, but she is totally in love with Yusei. Shall I remind you of the episode where she wants Yusei to help her study physics, "wink" "wink," even though we never see any indication that Yusei knows anything about physics. How about when they roller skate together. Rua and Ruka are right, it is a date. Yusei also let's Aki use Stardust Dragon, his most precious card. Any intelligent person can see this pairing. JackxCarly: ...I have nothing. This couple is not complicated enough to require explanation. Watch their duel, they frigging confess to each other. It was incredibly sad and you could see that they love each other. Sadly like Aki, Carly has been demoted to fangirl status after the Dark Signer arc. Nothing has happened with her involving Jack besides her, Mikage, and random coffee shop stalker getting into arguments. Still canon is canon. LinkxZelda: Over a dozen games, almost as many different Link and Zelda's. Different events, same outcome. It just is. He is the hero who saves the kingdom, she is the princess whom he saves. It's been done since the begining of time. Simple and straightforward. KoutaxLucy: First of all, screw KoutaxYuka. They are COUSINS! That is INCEST, and that is just wrong. That is one of the problems I have with the manga, as it hints that the two of them get married and have a child(excuse me while I vomit). The manga is also stupid because it removes most of the romance between Kouta and Lucy, making their relationship only friendship. This is much less tragic, and much less powerful. Either way they're tragic relationship is undeniable and while it might turn out well in the anime, the manga destroys all hope. Either way KoutaxYuka is just plain messed up. KeiichixRena: Please no flames(again). To be honest I am torn about this one. In my personal opinion KeiichixRena just barely beats KeiichixMion. This was very difficult to decide on, as there is no deciding factor between the two pairings. Both Rena and Mion harbor some sort of feelings for Keiichi. For Mion, we know she has romantic feelings for him. For Rena, it is more difficult to tell. We know that out of all the characters she is the closest friend to Keiichi. However, it can be difficult to tell whether, the pairing moments, the magatama and her wanting to "take his sea bear home" (I'm not telling you what that means, watch Rei if you want to know), are simply due to circumstances, or are backed by genuine feelings. The same problem applies to Keiichi, as his sexual preference reveals nothing (he is attracted to all of his female friends, including Rika and Satoko, the pedeophile). However, Keiichi's reciprocated feelings are what I based my opinion on. Keiichi is definitely closer to Rena then he is to Mion. I point to the final episode of Rei, the duel between the two, the fact that Rena comforts Keiichi in the second arc, the "almost kiss" in the first arc, and Keiichi telling his final words to Rena in the second to last arc as the only forms of proof. It is very close, and no definite answer is given. (P.S. if you want questionably canon proof I can point to the game Higurash Daybreak. Because I have not played the game, and cannot read japanese, my knowledge is limited. However, I do know what happens in the story mode ending for Keiichi and Mion. Note, this game uses the plot of the magatama introduced in Rei 5. In the ending Mion confesses to Keiichi that she loves him (while Shion, her mom, and Kasai watch, lol). Keiichi then sees that the white magatama is on his shoe and believes that it is causing her confession, at which point he runs away. Although there is the problem of circumstances, his reaction is kind of cruel, as he runs away and doesn't believe her, poor Mion. In the Rei version with Rena, at least he just tells her to focus on the ritual. Again in Daybreak, there is an ending between Rena and Keiichi. I unfortunately have not been able to find the translation of what they say, but I do know that the two have some kind of talk, which leads to them both blushing although nothing else happens. We then see Satoko and Rika talking about something, and that Rika has both magatamas. This mean the scene between Keiichi and Rena is uninfluenced, making it stronger proof than the Mion one. Also I personally thing Daybreak should count as canon, as well as Rei, simply because of the nature of Higurashi. Every alternate world did happen, even though they are undone. However, the character development does carry over from each different world. Even if the specific events of Rei and Daybreak can be considered as not happening, the events they have on the character can at least be used for the sake of argument.) SatoshixShion: Despite the fact that Shion and Satoshi don't get much time in the anime, they clearly have actual feelings for each other. Although Shion appears creepily obsessed with Satoshi, especially with the murder, I have heard that the manga portrays their relationship better than the anime. The only question left is whether or not Irie can cure Satoshi. That is for the fans to decide, but it is only the plot that blocks their relationship, not the characters. Also one more thing. All those crazy fangirls who support KeiichixSatoshi, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU! THEY NEVER MEET! HOW CAN THEY BE A PAIRING! MAKE SENSE FANGIRLS! BattlerxBeatrice: Wait for it. Just wait for it. VanxHitomi: It is their love that defeats destiny and saves Gaea. It is OPENLY STATED that they LOVE each other. Even in the end when Hitomi returns to earth, we know she can return to Gaea whenever she wants. We also know that Allen is a chronic womanizer, the opposite of gay. Folken is dead, and is Van's BROTHER. To anyone who uses logic, only one pairing is possible. VanxHitomi happens, and it continues after the series ends, FACT! HidekixChi: This couple is the purpose of the ENTIRE SERIES! Any one who questions this is clearly high on something. RobinxStarfire: Watch the flashback episode, and the Blackfire episode, and the transformation episode, and the movie... I'm sensing a pattern here. I know I can see it, and all normal people should also be able to see it as well. I am honestly starting to get bored explaining couples that are blatantly obvious. Watch the show, it happens, moving on. BeastBoyxTerra: Unfortunately we will never know if this works out, as the series was unfortunately cancelled after the fifth season, damn Cartoon Network. The final episode is a giant cliffhanger, clearly meant to lead into the non-existent sixth season. We see the possibility that Terra might have been revived after "Aftershock." However, we do not know whether the girl Beast Boy saw is someone who just looks like Terra, Terra who has lost her memories, or a guilt ridden Terra trying to live a normal life due to her shame after her betrayal. Before Terra's "death" the relationship between her and Beast Boy is obvious. Although there is no definite ending for this pairing, more happens than for BeastBoyxRaven. This relationship from episode one through the movie (the real "ending" of Teen Titans, which answers nothing other than RobinxStarfire) only improves from contempt to friendship, nothing more. IchigoxRukia: I think I might get burned alive after this one. Once again, I realize my partial hypocrisy by going against non-canon yaoi pairings, and then supporting a straight couple, that has not been proved canon yet. However, there is a big difference between reading into events that take place, and interpreting any little thing irrationally and jumping to conclusions. It is true that different people will interpret the same scene differently. What one person thinks has romantic feelings behind it might be considered a mere act of friendship by another. This problem applies to both the IchiRuki pairing and yaoi, unless you are completely insane and your pairings deny everything about the characters and story, in which case you suck. I find that the reason for the confusion of this pairing is do to the oddity of Ichigo and Rukia's relationship. While it does have some tsundere traits, it is more complicated than that. There are also elements that make them appear to be just incredibly close friends, or have a sort of brother-sister relationship. However, at other times they are like an old married couple. For me perhaps the most interesting thing in Bleach is the relationship between Ichigo and Rukia, as it is the most unusual and different thing in the manga. I thing that everyone will agree with me when I say they have a very strong bond. It is almost impossible to describe this bond, but it is clearly there. Because of the events that make up this bond, I personally believe that the bond is in some way romantic. I would like to give a few examples of scenes that scream IchiRuki. However, explaining why they do is no easy task. The first example I will give is not exactly a scene, but something Ichigo said. On multiple occasions Ichigo has been asked why Rukia is so important to him (note it is a fact that she is important to him, romantically or platonically). At one point he answered that it was because she changed his life. Not only did she save him and his family, she changed his entire world. I think there is more meaning to that then just the shinigami stuff. Another thing Ichigo said is that before he met Rukia, his world was always raining. Whether this is supposed to be his inner world or strictly metaphorical is not important. Ichigo specifically states that Rukia stopped the rain. Rukia is his light. Something like that seems far deeper than most friendships, at least to me. Another example is after the fight with Grand Fisher, where Rukia rests Ichigo's collapsed head on her lap saying that she is glad he didn't die. This is even more important than it appears at first glance when you remember Kaien. It is quite clear that Rukia loved Kaien. It is also important to note that Ichigo and Kaien are very similar in both personality and appearance. Ukitake once said that Ichigo was a lot like "him" (Kaien). This similarity is not coincidental. Especially when you consider Kaien's fate and the effect it had on Rukia, it should be obvious what happens when she meets his reincarnation, figuratively not literally, Ichigo. This is shown quite well in the Grand Fisher scene where Rukia is in the same position as with Kaien, which is why we saw the Ukitake flashback then. The emotion behind her happiness of not having to repeat the experience is quite noticeable. I will attempt to try and describe a part of the bond between these two. What is so incredible about Ichigo and Rukia's bond is how well they know each other. Both Ichigo and Rukia know exactly what the other is feeling, and often know exactly what to say to cheer one another up when they are down. This is apparent in the scene where Rukia first returns and forces Ichigo to fight a hollow in order to regain his fighting spirit. Listen to what she says, she knows exactly which buttons to push to cheer him back up. She even knew about his inner hollow problem. This is a constant throughout the series as they always know what the other needs. Another example is when Rukia tells Ichigo she is staying in Soul Society. Ichigo offers his full support on the decision, because that is what she needed. Despite being a complete idiot, e.g. not knowing Orihime's feelings, he is quite perceptive when it comes to understanding Rukia. In fact during almost any crisis the two are always incredibly worried about each other, at which point the other tells them to worry about themselves instead. When Ichigo first met Rukia in Soul Society, she is only worried about the injuries he received, not her impending execution. When Orihime heals Rukia after she is stabbed by Grimmjow, she tells him to not feel bad about her injuries and to focus on his inner hollow. They care for each other more than they do for themselves. For further proof of this care between the two, I point to the Soul Society arc. Remember how when Ichigo had been beaten by Byakuya and he grabbed his robe. Byakuya was gonna kill Ichigo but Rukia stepped in and kicked Ichigo, willingly going to her own execution. She did this only to protect him with no regard for herself. Ichigo understands this as he is angry at being protected by her, seeing through her emotional outburst and threats not to rescue her. Following his recovery, Ichigo immediately, you guessed it, set out to save Rukia. Think about this, Ichigo was willing to go against the government of the dead, filled with insanely powerful opponents, in order to rescue her, despite ony knowing her for sixth months. Now it is true that he did have help but the motivation of the others has little to do with Rukia. Uryuu was pushed by his hate for the shinigami and desire for revenge. Inoue only went to help Ichigo, more on that later. Chad only went because he is willing to protect his friends with his life, that's just who he is. Finally Yoruichi went because of the whole Aizen thing. ONLY ICHIGO WENT FOR RUKIA. Now I realize that the whole risking his life to save her is not enough proof, as IchiHime fans can argue that he did the same thing for Orihime in the Hueco Mundo arc. However, if you look at the events more closely, you can see that Ichigo has changed since his rescue of Rukia. Unlike with Rukia where he only wanted to save her, many characters, especially the Espada, point out Ichigo's desire for battle as another reason. Remember when Yamamoto told Ichigo that Orihime might have betrayed them, he doubted her. While Ichigo never gave up on Rukia for a second, he started to beleive Yamamoto. Again I will look at the other characters reasons for going to Hueco Mundo. Chad's reason is the same, to protect his friends. Rukia and Renji both went to help their as friends as well, although not in the same detached way as Chad. Rukia and Renji went because Ichigo went and Soul Society did not back them up. They were just as worried about the rescuer as the rescuee. The only character who goes solely to save Orihime is Uryuu. Uryuu immediately breaks the promise he made with his father in order to save her. It has nothing to do with shinigami, just Orihime. Anyway enough about Uryuu, that's for another section. Here are a few quotes that I think will further prove my case. "I remember now... the reason why... I wanted to save you so much" (Ichigo, chapter 181). "That's the kind of man I know you have been in my heart, Ichigo!" (Rukia, chapter 196). " The quotes should be pretty self-explanatory. The final actual example I can think of is Fade to Black. This entire movie basically focuses on IchiRuki and their bond. Ichigo cares quite a lot about Rukia, as we can see in his struggle, the climax where he gives her back her powers, thus repaying his debt, and the final scene where the two of them are just talking together all point to a more intimate relationship (also they hug, which is not necessarily romantic but considerring the nature of their relationship, carries a lot of meaning). Now before anyone tries to say that Fade to Black does not count because the movies are filler, I would like to state one fact. Tite Kubo was directly involved in the production of Fade to Black. In fact he even said he wanted the fillers to be more tied in to the main storyline. If this doesn't legitimize filler, I don't know what will. That is all the real "evidence" I can find but there is one more thing I want to note. The eyes. I cannot really explain this but if you look at the anime and the manga, especially the manga, there is so much expressed in Ichigo and Rukia's eyes. The emotion in their eyes is incredible, and while this not actual proof, I strongly believe it says something. All right that is all the proof I have for IchiRuki. Oh wait I'm forgetting something. Oh yeah, I didn't talk about Ichihime enough. Crap, well let's get this over with. Orihime either likes or is in love with Ichigo. What started out as an innocent crush has overtaken Orihime creating an unhealthy obsession. That is the problem I have with Orihime. She has incredible potential as a character, but she wastes it by screaming "Kurosaki-kun." That brings up another point, the two aren't even on a first name basis. They have never talked to each other outside of a life threatening event. In fact, in the first episode of the Bounto arc, when Tatsuki and Orihime greet Ichigo, HE DOESN'T EVEN RESPOND TO HER, only Tatsuki. It should appear obvious that Ichigo barely cares for Orihime. He barely even recognizes that she exists. The single, solitary reason that this couple exists is because of Orihime. Even though Orihime's crush has been known since the very beginning, nothing comes from it until before Orihime goes to Hueco Mundo. Now, it really bugs me when people claim that this scene supports IchigoxOrihime because Ichigo is ASLEEP. This romance is strictly one sided and Ichigo has had no response whatsoever. Also, while that scene is considered as a point for IchiHime, it is more of a strike against Orihime. When the crush first started off, it was innocent, and while she didn't know Ichigo, there was time for that, I actually liked that. However, now Orihime does nothing but scream "Kurosaki-kun" and complain about how weak she is. Honestly, Orihime is useless whenever Ichigo is around. Remember when Ichigo got his ass kicked by Ulquiorra and Orihime saw him with a hole in his chest. At this point she proceeds to freak out repeatedly thinking, "What should I do?" Here's an idea, maybe she should HEAL HIM! She sits there and freaks out despite her god-like powers, (ignore that last part, the manga wasn't very clear. In fact she did try to heal Ichigo it just wasn't working. She also had her freak out "what should I do" moment after seeing Uryuu get the crap beat out of him by Ulqiorra, so she gains few points.) Ichigo makes Orihime useless. If you remember back when she was in Soul Society with Uryuu, Orihime was actually somewhat capable. True she cannot fight because she lacks killing intent but she did help the two progress. It was her idea to steal shinigami robes so that they could move in disguise, which is actually pretty smart. Again Orihime shows what she is made of in Hueco Mundo when she SLAPS ULQUIORRA. Everything about Orihime's character is lessened by the precence of Ichigo. This one-sided romance is more than just pathetic it is also unhealthy. I will only be able to respect Orihime when she manages to grow up a bit. So yeah, in conclusion, Ichigo and Rukia have an unbreakable bond that will only strengthen with time while Orihime obsesses over a guy who barely even acknowledges her existence. Oops, I'm an idiot, I forgot to talk about RenjixRukia. First of all the facts. Renji and Rukia have been friends for a LONG time, since childhood, which is even longer than normal considering Soul Society time. It is also true that they are indeed friends, good friends in fact. We have also seen that Renji has risked his life to save Rukia (although it originally took some coaxing from Ichigo). I do say that it seems very likely that Renji had feelings for Ruika in the past. However, when she joined the Kuchiki clan, Renji seperated from her. Because he felt he could not be with her, he effectively isolated her for FOURTY YEARS. Because of this she lost her best friend, and alone until she met Kaien. Even though it is understandable that the Kuchiki's high class would deter anyone from her, Renji still should have been her friend, the reason Rukia fell in love with Kaien was because she didn't care about class or the Kuchiki clan. The fact is that Renji betrayed her. Even though he regrets this after he is beaten by Ichigo, and therefore becomes desperete to save her as to repent, the damage has been done. Although Rukia and Renji's relationship has healed and they are friends again, I do not see how a romance can happen after this. I mean it is kind of hard to forget the fact that Renji did hurt her deeply. The thing about this pairing is that it seems to solely rely on them being "close childhood friends." While it is true that many anime pairings can come from this, it alone is not enough reason. Well I think I covered everything (I think I overdid it). So that's pretty much it for this pairing. I have rambled on enough. To finish I would say that the bond between Ichigo and Rukia is currently at the level of "more than friends but not quite lovers." However, they seem to become closer to the lovers area every time they are seen together, talk about each other, or even think about each other. "Thank you Rukai. Thanks to you, I think... the rain has stopped..." (Ichigo, chapter 181). *Update* Finally after god know how long we have a few new IchiRuki moments. It's been too long! The first of these moments is when Ichigo saves Rukia from Yammy. While the actual saving of her is not explicitly romantic, I can't but help see something odd in his reaction to her asking if he saved Orihime. Something about the look in his eye which even Rukia could not figure out, seemed completely new, but at the same time reminiscent of the eyes motif between Ichigo and Rukia that we haven't seen in a long time. This particular example is pretty weak as I am sure the plot is mixed in with that look. However the other moment is undoubtably IchiRuki. After Isshin arrived on the scene and promises to explain everything to Ichigo afterwards, Ichigo responds the same way as Rukia did when she first heard about his mom's death. Just like Rukia, Ichigo tells his dad that he will wait until he is ready to talk. This is huge not only because Ichigo is saying the same thing Rukia said, complete with him saying it is borrowed and shots of Rukia intersperced on the pages, but also because this is perhaps the first time that Ichigo and Isshin have been able to understand each other, and communicate. This is an incredible father-son bonding moment and it was Rukia who indirectly caused it. Rukia clearly has had a major influence on Ichigo for the better and it is hard to deny the strenght of their bond, so strong it has to be romantic. *Another update* After another eternity we get some more IchiRuki goodness. First we see Ichigo meet up with all of his friends after the battle. It should be noted Rukia in the center, more symbolic than actual proof. I find it funny that Rukia was trying to tell him not to worry about her for the 19th time before she got interrupted by Orihime. Interestingly this is one of the few times Ichigo actually responds to Orihime. After Ichigo wakes up at home, he completely ignores the ecstatic Orihime, who is so pathetic she is embarrassed about exclaiming happiness that he wakes up, and only speaks to Rukia. While, there is plot reason for them being the ones to talk, I still think it has meaning. What follows is a sad farewell between the two that I will not describe, it simply should be seen. However the moment is ruined when you realize that Rukia can see him with a gigai, b,t still, ignore that for the sake of drama. If you read scene, it becomes undeniable just how much Ichigo and Rukia mean to each other. I have grown tired of trying to explain the feelings behind these scenes over and over. I can guarantee that everybody will see something in this scene. Until Ichigo inevitably regains his powers and the plot continues, Kubo has IchiRuki even clearer than it was before. "Thank you" (Ichigo, 423). UryuuxOrihime: Before I start, I would advise you read the freaking essay I wrote about IchiRuki, as that is where I argue against IchiHime. This will hopefully not be as insanely long. Point one, Uryuu is developing feelings for Orihime. Notice how he goes to rescue her in Hueco Mundo, and when he does says that he will gladly guard her with his life, even using his body as a shield if necessary. He even took Orihime up to where Ichigo was fighting Ulquiorra as she asked, despite knowing how stupid her idea is. Uryuu began to get closer to Orihime during the Soul Society arc when they were alone together. During this time, Uryuu always makes Orihime's safety his first priority, acting somewhat like a chivalrous knight. Some people accuse him of not letting her fight with the "women belong in the kitchen" mindset, however I disagree. It is true he does the fighting, but that is because Orihime cannot fight. We saw that Tsubaki couldn't even beat Jirobo, as she has no killing intent. Every time either Uryuu or Ichigo has told Orihime to stand back, it is because they are facing an opponent she cannot beat. It has nothing to do with her being a girl, it is because she is not a good fighter. When Uryuu was facing Mayuri he only worried about Orihime's safety, that is why he sent her away. She could never have stood up against a captain, and would only be caught in the crossfire. Orihime is a healer, not a fighter. Anyway, I realize that this relationship is also kind of one-sided as Orihime is to blinded by her obsession with Ichigo. Despite all Uryuu does for her, she barely even thanks him. This is why I hope Orihime will grow up and realize who cares for her and who doesn't. The last thing I would like to add that makes there relationship slightly less one-sided is that Uryuu and Orihime are COMFORTABLE AROUND EACH OTHER. Ichigo and Orihime never so much as speak to each other, while Orihime blushes and makes a fool of herself. However, Uryuu and Orihime interact on at least a friendly level. Unlike with "Kurosaki-kun" where Orihime is a stammering idiot, she is able to be herself around Uryuu. If you remeber back to Soul Society when the two stole the robes, Orihime actually started undressing in front of Uryuu. This is because she was comfortable with his presence. While it was still a stupid move, it proves that she has no problem being around Uryuu, saying it was like being with Tatsuki. While this is merely a matter of being friends, they are far closer to each other than Orihime is to Ichigo. Hopefully we will get more development between the two soon, as we know they are together at the top of Las Noches, where Orihime is healing Uryuu. After seeing the monster she turned Ichigo into, and what he did to Uryuu, hopefully Orihime will open her eyes. Ichigo became so determined to save her because of her words that he lost his humanity, and could not determine friend from foe. Hopefully this will put a mirror to Orihime's face and she will see the danger of her obsession, and see Uryuu''s as the knight in shining armor is to her. *Update* NEVER MIND! Screw all that. We get nothing between them because Kubo forgot about them! Now after the battle Orihime is even worse, crying upon seeing Ichigo. For someone who is trying live by her own strength, Orihime sure seems to need a lot of comforting from Rukia, don't you think? I can't be the only person who thinks it is messed up that the only time Orihime actually gets Ichigo to notice her is by crying and loudly interrupting Rukia. Seriously Orihime, the guy doesn't like you, move on. Even after another month of his absence, Orihime, is still obsessed with Ichigo. I had hoped that between the time atop Las Noches and the Ichigo-less month, Orihime would have realized what Uryuu has done for her. But no, instead we get nothing! WHY KUBO WHY! If there is a time skip as many people suspect, then the humans will have to go to Soul Society in order to remain in the cast, which might not happen. If that doesn't happen IshiHime is dead. Dammit Kubo!!!!!!!! ShinjixAsuka: I'm sorry. I can't do it. Explaining Evangelion is a nearly impossible task. Even explaining this pairing would require explaining all of Eva, which I have neither the ability nor patience to do. The necessary explanation would be eight times longer than my IchiRuki "essay." Watch the show. Watch it again. Look closely at everything. Search the internet for any explanations of Evangelion you can find (I personally recomend the Youtube channel revolutionofeva and the corresponding website www.revolutionofevangelion.org, V is an Eva master). I am not the person to explain this. KyonxHaruhi: This is another one that is blatantly obvious. Kyon is so important because he is a normal person. Even though Haruhi wants to be surrounded by aliens, time travelers, and espers, which she is, she keeps him around only for who he is, not his circumstances. Kyon also has a strong influence on Haruhi, easily able to cheer her up and is the only person capable of even in some way restraining her. All of these facts are acknowledged by the other three main characters at some time or another (In fact, alternate universe Koizumi from the movie even says that Haruhi loves Kyon). Aside from the bond and the undertones, their are also very obvious moments of KyonxHaruhi. The biggest one is in episode 14, order aired not chronologically. Kyon saves the current reality by kissing Haruhi. While this was a dream, the events that happened were real. Nagato stated that both Haruhi and Kyon left their world and entered closed space. The world was actually almost recreated. It really did happen, even if the two only experienced it as a dream. Also in the same dream, Kyon told Haruhi he liked it when she put her hair in a poneytail. And the very next day, you guessed it, she wears a poneytail, the first time she changed her hair in any way since she cut it short. Furthermore, the initial cause of Haruhi trying to reset the world was because she saw Kyon and Mikuru being playful, and dangerously flirtasuous, making her jelous and angry. If that doesn't mean anything I don't know what does. There are far more examples, such as them holding hands after the cultural festival, Haruhi's reaction to the homework solution at then end of summer (Endless Eight! ENDLESS EIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), and the winter episode where Haruhi puts her jacket over Kyon when he sleeps and when they walk home together sharing an umbrella. Also in the movie we get the previously mentioned statement by Koizumi, Kyon's reaction to a world without Haruhi, Kyon's reaction to seeing Haruhi, Haruhi staying with Kyon while he is in the hospital the whole time, and finally the way Kyon wakes Haruhi up by tenderly stroking her face, and her attempts to maintain her composure after he wakes up. It is true that Kyon has some surface fealings for Mikuru, but they are pretty shallow, and he has become quite close with Nagato, especially in the movie. However, he is far closer to Haruhi even if he won't admit it, (also the fact that the Mikuru is from the future, Nagato fails the turing test, and that a relationship with either would cause the end of the world). Now I will go against the crazy yaoi pairing of this series, KyonxItsuki, since they are the only important guys in the show. It is true that Koizumi likes to act weirdly cheerful and slightly gay around both Haruhi and Kyon, although one of the light novels reveals that he does this intentionally because he fears if he didn't Haruhi would make him. However this idea goes completely out the window due to an episode of Haruhi-chan, a chibi mini-series spin-off. In one episode Kyon says he loves Koizumi as part of a game and some japanese ideom that I don't understand. Upon seeing this, Haruhi faints, represses the memory, and creates a very large closed space. Therefore the universe would end if any yaoi between the two were to exist. See in this series even god says no to yaoi, do you get the picture yet fangirls. I would also like to mention something on the opposite end of the spectrum, yuri. I am not being hypocritical by hating yaoi, because I also hate yuri that rapes canon. It just so happens that the yaoi canon rape is more prevelant. The pairing I am fighting this time is a really disturbing pairing, of which one of my friends is a huge fan, which give me no end of discomfort. That pairing is KyonkoxItsuko. If your wondering who these people are, they are Kyon and Koizumi, except as girls. There are so many things wrong with this I don't even know where to start. First off, Kyon and Koizumi are GUYS. You can't simply change a characters gender without f-ing up the entire storyline and everything that has led to the creation of the character, unless it is magic genderbending, but thats different. I am not being sexist here but boys and girls have differences. This means that if each of the two characters were born as girls, their lives would innevitably be different from their current lives. Changing the characters genders completely throws continuity out the window. It honostely disgusts me that people think that genders are so meaningless. This isn't feminism, this is a disregard for a biological fact, that cannot be ignored. Men and women can not be switched on a whim. There is no real Kyonko or Itsuko as they are not in any the characters from this anime. I believe in what is canon, what we see from the world we are shown. Changes like this completely disregard the world the creators made for us. Even though works can transcend their authors, what actually happens cannot be denied. VashxMeryl: The first thing I would like to say is that this is anime only. I have not read the Trigun manga, but from the research I have done, the romance is almost entirely absent. Considering the anime and manga are two completely separate entities, I am not missing anything from the manga, and the manga does not contradict the romance in the anime. In the anime, Meryl is a classic tsundere. Despite how much she acts like she hates Vash, she is clearly in love with him. Meryl is so angry because Vash goes against everything Meryl thinks. While she tries to be professional and to follow the rules, Vash completely baffles her, by being both a complete goof and not being the cold-blooded killer he is rumored to be. In episode two, Marianne mentioning she could fall for Vash provokes a stereotypical tsundere retort by Meryl about how irresponsible he is and blah blah blah. In episode five, Meryl awes at the personal revelation that Vash is the real Vash The Stampede, but her feelings are staved off by his "Love and peace." In episode six, Meryl is angered by Vash noticing the hookers, and being Elizabeth's bitch. In fact, after he saves the Plant, she wants to go to him, but doesn't because Elizabeth is there. In episode eleven, we see Meryl trust Vash when he agrees to kill Moor (don't know if that is spelled right, but who cares, she's a filler character), despite it going against her job, and her by the book nature. In episode twelve, Vash's goofy facade comes down and he tells both Meryl and Milly to stay away from him. Meryl responds with tears in her eyes, "He's walking away. If we let him leave now he'll probably never come back." But I thought she didn't like him? In episode thirteen, Vash explains that he hides his scars because he is afraid they might scare women away. In perhaps the most blatant tsundere true feelings moment in all of anime, Meryl says, "I wouldn't run away. What I mean is they wouldn't run away," (Smooth Meryl, real smooth). There are even more moments that I an too lazy to explain in detail. In episode 25, Meryl meets Vash, complete with romantic undertones and Rem's song, on top of a hill in the night. When she says he can stay there (might I add blushing the entire time) she clearly means he can stay with her. In the same episode, Meryl saves Vash from angry locals and channels the spirit of Rem, including classic anime mistaking people for others thing. This of course brings up all sorts of Oedipal concepts I would prefer not to think about. Remember it is at this point that Vash is in absolute despair. Hated by the world, hating himself, and without reason to live. Everything he believed in for over a hundred years shattered before his eyes. It is Meryl who is able to bring him out of his despair. With one speech the old Vash is back. Not to mention he has his big revelation while passionately hugging Meryl. While Meryl is at first embarrassed she soon becomes comfortable, and then Vash goes goofy and tsundere fist is returns. Also in this episode as Vash walks away to the final battle, with Meryl and Milly waving goodbye, Meryl starts crying because she couldn't say anything (Gee I wonder what she wanted to say?) Milly says that she can say it when he returns and that Meryl can "Go nuts on him." (Bow chika bow wow). On a side note in the same episode After the hill scene Meryl comes to work and says that she didn't get much sleep. I wonder why she wouldn't have been able to sleep after the scene with Vash? (Wink wink nudge nudge). Actually that's a joke. Due to Vash's innocent nature and his view of humans and himself, it is highly unlikely that he would have sex with anyone without being in a relationship first. i think I have wasted everyone's time by explaining things they should already have easily seen just by watching the show. Although they are not technically together, it is quite clear what happens with them once Vash returns to Meryl. GenexMelfina: I'm not going to explain this one. It is so blatant it's not even funny. Gene was a man-whore, he's not with Melfina. Obvious romance is obvious. Jimmy is straight, as we see with Hanmyo. Fred is gay, but Gene is CLEARLY not. Fangirls and their slash are stupid for ignoring the fact that every male character in the show is given a clear sexual preference. Everyone should just awe at how cute Gene and Melfina are together and that's final. I think this was overkill. Stories Beginning Eternity: Code Geass, a story about C.C. and the carriage driver. |
