I saw a drawing and an idea for this story on Tumblr. About Steven Rogers and about how his son having to deal with the health maladies that Steve had before becoming Captain America. It was on a whim.

After being exposed to an unknown chemical agent during a battle, Bruce is left unconscious, half-naked, and very young. Tony (with the help of his team) takes it upon himself to try to reverse the effects of the chemical, all while caring for the little boy who is one of his closest friends.

In the days leading up to the phone call, he had been busy following orders. There were packets he had to deliver, assignments to review and a lot of other mundane SHIELD things. But Phil Coulson took it in stride, knowing it was just another day on the job. Until he found out his parents were dead and he was now the guardian of his 25-year-old autistic sister.
