It was obvious that Patrick Jane and Teresa Lisbon shared a strong and special bond. The scene earlier with the fallen envelopes only confirmed that they were close. But it didn't look like they were together; they didn't communicate with touches but with their eyes. And he still wore his wedding band. AU about how Jane and Lisbon's relationship is seen by the other condo owners.

When she finally found him in the kitchen, the sight stopped her in her tracks. All words dried up on her tongue. Patrick Jane was sitting at their kitchen table, but he wasn't the man she'd kissed good night. - Post-post Blue Bird; Because I really really REALLY miss that vest.

Glancing over his shoulder, he saw a dark shadow fall over her features as she watched him walk away. It was a look of resignation and it filled him with a hot rush of fear. - Post-post Blue Bird.

"...And then she'd gotten on a plane. He didn't mind this time, especially since he had gotten on the same one."

Set immediately after Blue Bird. Jane and Lisbon are called onto a case with some haunting repercussions for Jane where his vision may be clouded by his past, much to Lisbon's dismay. Meanwhile, their romance develops, but not without some growing pains. T now, but may be M later.

'Jane squeezed her fingers. "Anxious to get going?" he murmured. "We're just lucky some idiot didn't sneak on board and disrupt proceedings. I hear the TSA really frowns on that sort of thing."'

Lisbon agrees to go to DC with Pike after an awkward moment with Jane. When a storm hits the FBI HQ they are forced to discuss what happened and her upcoming move. Now complete.

They're both broken, and she can still see the cracks when they're held up to the light, but maybe it's the mixing of pieces and the sharing of scars that will make them whole again. They're not running anymore. He loves her. She loves him. And it might not be perfect, but nothing ever is, and it's a very good place to start. During/post 6.22, "Blue Bird".

"Is this it?" She suddenly felt like dying, dread and sadness settling so heavy in her heart, she almost expected Jane to gasp at the unexpected gain of weight on top of him. "Is this what?", he asked. He could barely hear her over the sound of rain on the roof. "Is this... what you've lost?" - Ties into "Dreaming of White", but can be read separately. A year after Red John's death, Lisbon runs into Jane unexpectedly. He intends on keeping a promise he made her before leaving, despite her protestations and the presence of Walter Mashburn in her life. It is an A.U., but not extreme. It will be very in canon.
