In 2007 I discovered I had a strange but horrible looking "allergy," or "rash" nearly covering my arms and legs. It took me a few weeks to figure out what the cause was - bed bugs. I thought they'd been eradicated a long time ago but they're back again unfortunately, and an even worse menace than ever.
