Life's a shipwreck; but we can't forget to sing in the lifeboats.

Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,

If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,

And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;

To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Fall down seven times; stand up eight.

If you're laying in bed

wrapped up in sheets

of miserable thought,

go to sleep.

If thumbing through old messages

only causes your heart to ache

and long for something unattantinable

erase them.

If it hurts to keep

everything you're feeling

bottled up inside

let it out.

If you're clinging onto someone

that doesn't treat you like

you're worth the world

let them go.

Because sometimes

we choose to believe

that things are only

indistinguishable shades of gray

when in reality,

life is more black and white

than it seems.

If you're unhappy

with the way

you are living your life

change it.

If you have no voice; scream.

If you have no legs; run.

If you have no hope; invent.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.
