In a world where physical ailments are only possible when one is vulnerable to their feelings, a group called the Vulcans do their best to cast aside all of their emotions in exchange for quasi-immortality. Spock, a supposedly emotionless Vulcan, is hired as a new teacher, where he ends up meeting Jim Kirk, a very intelligent student with a lot of baggage.
