This story is a hark back to Series 1 or 2 definitely before Tequila Sunset, it's early Dempsey. I want the site to continue and that's why I'm posting this.

Dempsey has just come out of an undercover operation where his life was constantly in danger, Harry was his control and their relationship was tested. The story follows The Burning and is an old story of mine.

This story is after Guardian Angel and Dempsey has yet to ask Harry on a date which causes a certain amount of resentment. His mother is about to visit the UK with a set of mistaken preconceptions about the partners relationship. This doesn't sit well with Lady H and slapstick humour ensues. Don't read this if you are squeamish about Dempsey getting his comeuppance.

Dempsey faces his pain and Harry is the only person he feels would understand, the ramifications of his actions surprise them both.

Dempsey has some surprises in store when he realises what marrying into the aristocracy means and Harry's family aren't exactly thrilled that's she's marrying a New York cop. This story follows on directly from Partners 2.

Dempsey goes back to the States to gain closure unfortunately his methods for dealing with the dirty cops in the NYPD seriously damages his relationship with Makepeace and the faux engagement is terminated. Can their friendship survive? (Partners is the first part of this story).

Harry revisits her past and it makes her rethink some of her life choices and that has repercussions for her relationship with her partner Lieutenant James Dempsey.

This story is related to The Burning with a different twist. Dempsey reveals Harry is a cop to Mara Giardino's team and the story moves on from there. The Partners are pushed into a difficult situation to stay alive and fight another day and their relationship is severely impacted as Harry is pushed out of her comfort zone.

Lillian decides Gabriel needs a vacation as he's recovering from a gunshot wound and Riley is assigned to protect him so she goes too. Riley's feeling a bit sensitive as her emotions were heightened when she put herself on the line for Gabriel and she realises how much she cares for him.
