Author has written 4 stories for Shakespeare. Why am I here? I am something of a fanfiction parasite, at present, having been roped into the reading end of the genre by Zallah and being acquainted almost exclusively with pieces that Zallah has directed me towards reading. I have however long written fanfiction independently, without giving it that name, and am at last inspired to share some of it with a wider audience. What do I read/write? As a general rule I am fascinated by character dynamics, particularly of dynamic duos. Does this mean that I end up reading a lot of slash? Yes. Does this mean that I end up writing a lot of slash? Honestly, I began playing with dynamics long before I understood that concept, and so I leave the matter for you to assess, as best suits your own taste. I myself tend to balk at categorization, and as such am unlikely ever to write anything explicit: though I am always pleased to find like-minded writers in that respect, to some extent I take what I can get. The vast majority of what I will post here shall be for Hamlet and Julius Caesar, at least in the near future. Favoured characters are Hamlet, Horatio, Brutus, Cassius. Both worlds owe something to an ongoing exchange of ideas with Zallah, though the Hamlet world (namely Wittenberg) is a somewhat more explicitly collaborative and canonized project. What am I? A strange animal . . . and by no means exclusively a writer. My obsessions span several other mediums, out of which I am probably most accomplished in unprofessional acting (not theater, enactment! - of Shakespeare, predominately). Favorite roles have been Puck, First Witch, Caliban, Hamlet, and Brutus. I also draw, dabble in music, eat/sleep/breathe philosophy, study history (medieval, classical), strive for mastery of Latin, and occasionally lust after physics. My diurnal, seasonal, and atmospheric preferences are as follows: - generally pleasing: late afternoon to dusk, night skies, autumn, winter, early spring, rain, snow, wind, (thunder) storms, eclectic alternation of light and shadow, fog, relatively cool temperatures. - generally displeasing: the middle of the day, seamlessly blue skies, the relentless onslaught of sunshine, inconvenient messes of slush, stagnant air, monotonous summers, excessive heat. There can, however, be exceptions, times when I am in the mood to enjoy a sunny mid-day, appreciate the messiness of slush, or even tolerate the heat (most notably when there is a large body of cool to just-below-freezing water at hand). Yes, this is related to my writing . . . somehow. |
