Author has written 1 story for Gravity Falls. Hello, fellow reading junkies!!! My pen name is "let them eat words", and I also have an account on FictionPress. What I'm crazy about: My Little Pony, Friendship Is Magic- a great animated series about 6 very different ponies learning about friendship in tons of witty, gripping, and relatable adventures. There's Twilight Sparkle: the anti-social bookworm, Pinkie Pie: the life of the party, Fluttershy: the quiet animal-lover, Rainbow Dash: the super-cool fast flyer, Applejack: the hardworking country-pony, and Rarity: the sophisticated fashionista. I recommend it to the whole family, you will praise, laugh, and maybe even cry for this amazing show. And you should really see the fanbase, a supportive group of great people making art, music, and stories here and elsewhere, inspired by this unforgettable show. Check out an episode or 2 on Youtube, you won't be dissapointed. It's also on the Hub tv network. Epic Music (TSFH, Groove Addicts, AudioMachine, Future World Music, etc.)- Let me tell you, this is more than just music. It's dramatic, emotional, universally-recognized ART. Your ears will never hear anything better, at least in my opinion. Since there are no words in any of the songs, it also lets your imagination run wild, great for inspiration for stories. There are darker songs, (He Who Brings The Night, See What I've Become, Dark Ages), lighter songs (Transcendance, Clairvoyant, Eternal Flame), and other, more energetic songs that will be stuck in your head for a while (Starfall, Siren's Call, Jump!) to list a few... This genre of music is great for when you want to drown out the rest of world and go inside your brain for a few minutes (or more, depending on how many times you press "replay"). So, grab some friends or family and listen, or just tune in yourself... (P.S. I'm writing this now as I'm listening to one) Game of Thrones- I know this is quite the opposite of MLP FIM, but it's no less something to cheer about. GoT has many attributes of the average fantasy saga: kings and queens, magic of many kinds, and peace and war (but mostly war), but GoT is better than many other fantasy collections. Some have even praised the author, George R.R. Martin, of being the next Tolkien. For those of you who don't know about the books/tv show/play (it's just that famous), GoT is like MLP in that it is one story told by many voices. Those voices are very helpful in showing behind the scenes looks at the minds of the 6 individuals ALL TRYING TO BE KING. There's "The King In The North" Robb Stark, "The King In Highgarden" Renly Baratheon, "The King On The Iron Throne" Joffrey Lannister/Baratheon (WHO I DESPISE and call "The King Of All @$$#*!&$) "The King In The Narrow Sea" Stannis Baratheon, "The Queen Across The Water" Daenerys Targaryen (I LUVVVV HER!!!), and the unaccounted for Theon Greyjoy. But besides the 6 different armies to look out for, there are also the savage wildlings, and even more dangerous, the others beyond the Wall (a brick/stone barrier protecting the realm). Of course, this fantasy isn't completely G-rated. Actually, it's far from being G-rated, because of the sex, viollance, and language. If your over 18, I highly recommend the series. It'll keep you on the edge of your seat, all the main characters are sympathetic and relatable (TAKE NOTE, the only "kings" telling their own stories here are Daenerys and Theon, all the other characters telling their sides of the story are NOT the other candidates). If your 13-17 years old, depending on your personality, it might be a little hard to stomach, but you COULD read it. However, if your under 12 I DON'T recommend it. But look past the R-rating, it's still a great tale to read before bedtime... or anytime. |
