![]() Author has written 1 story for Alpha and Omega. Introduction to profile Hello! Welcome to my profile! I'm not really sure what to put on here but I hope that if you are visiting that you check out my story Lone wolf for the film Alpha and Omega. I have always been a massive animation fan ever since I got The Lion King for my birthday back in 1994! I enjoy a few fanfiction stories. I like to read stories that our well written and clearly show some thought being put into them. I first came to this website reading Balto fanfiction particularly iWolf231 who has wrote several stories in a series that have a much darker theme to them and are highly engaging and drove me to tears a few times. If you haven't read his work and are a fan of Balto here is the link to check out his profile: https://www.fanfiction.net/u/2078126/iWolf231 So thanks for the inspiration iWolf231! I am also interested in both Mass Effect and Halo and occasionally pop over to their crossover page to see if there are any good stories. I am an avid gamer who enjoys titles like Skyrim, Metro 2033, Metro Last Light and Assassins Creed as well as Mass Effect and Halo. Please check out my story if you have the time. Name significance Some people have PM'd me asking what my name means. It is a reference to J.R.R. Tolkien's story of Beren & Lúthien from the Silmarillion. Beren is a man from the house of Beor of Edain who after fleeing from the massacre of his kin comes across the fairest and most beautiful of the elves Lúthien. Lúthien also falls in love with the mortal man. Her father Thingol disapproves of their love for each other and sends Beren on an impossible quest to retrive the Silmarils from the dark lord Morgoth. After much travelling both Beren and Lúthien arrive in the dark lords fortress of Angband. They take on the forms of a werewolf (Beren) and a vampire (Lúthien) and put the dark lord and his lackeys under a spell of sleep. Unfortunately, as they retrieve the Silmarils the dark lord wakes to find one of his prized jewels missing. He sends his mightiest werewolf after the pair to retrieve the jewel and kill those who stole it. The mighty werewolf, Carcharoth (who is depicted in my avatar) devours the Silmaril as he bites off Beren's hand. Carcharoth was burned by the pure light of the Silmaril and ran off madly allowing Beren & Lúthien to escape. Thingol approves of Beren to marry his daughter even though he did not manage to complete his quest. Carcharoth, who in his madness comes into Doriath (where Beren & Co. live) and causes much destruction there. Beren is killed by the wolf, but Carcharoth was also slain. Before he died, Beren handed the Silmaril, which was recovered from Carcharoth's belly, to Thingol. Overcome by grief Lúthien also dies. The Valar Mandos is moved to pity by the separated pair who would never see each other again. He restores Beren and Lúthien to life and grants mortality to the Elf. Lúthien leaves her home and her parents and went to Ossiriand with Beren. There they dwelt for the rest of their lives, and both eventually died the death of mortal Men. Fun fact: When Tolkien's wife Edith died he put the name "Lúthien" on her gravestone. When Tolkien himself died he wrote in his will to have "Beren" put on his gravestone. Their grave can be found in the Wolvercote Cemetery in Oxford. :') |
