Hello, fellow writers and fan fiction engineers. I'm just a college student, trying to find different outlets to counter their writers block, and to find different works that could either entertain and/or amuse me. My writing may not be the most proper or correct, but I feel that the expression is more important. Writing is a creative outlet; it allows for people to challenge their imagination and creativity. I do not know what I am trying to convey through this profile depiction, but who cares? This is the internet, and it's not like I will be meeting any of you readers in person. It is probably sad that I am only confident in sharing my work when it is on a website where no one knows it is me, but I'm working on it. No one's perfect-my work certainly isn't-so I can hide behind my computer for now. Someday, I will become a strong, independent writer. Who knows? Maybe I will even publish my own book. Nothing pertaining to fan fiction, of course; something entirely from my own invention. That's the dream. Probably the same dream many of you may have. This is all about me, though. I mean, it is my profile, after all. Let me tell you a little more about myself and the effects of literature on my life. You already know that I am a college student, but now you know that I am an eighteen year-old female. My favorite hobbies include singing, dancing, painting, reading and, of course, writing. Some of my favorite authors include: Stephen King, John Green, Kurt Vonnegut, James Dashner, Nicholas Sparks, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Edgar Allan Poe and Edith Wharton. Quite the variety, if I do say so myself. Some of my favorite works include: Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Birthmark, Ralph Waldo Emerson's Self-Reliance and Beauty, Edgar Allan Poe's The Angel of the Odd, Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse-Five, Stephen King's Revival and John Green and David Levithan's Will Grayson, Will Grayson. Again, quite the variety. I have no idea if my these lists are considered 'basic' or 'predictable', but I enjoy these authors and their works. Besides my love for these writers, I hold a dear place in my heart for performers in the art of music. I'm would consider myself an eclectic, seeing as that's the word most associated of people with varying tastes in music. I'd like to think I'm an interesting person, and considering my tastes, it may seem that way. Honestly, I am not. There's nothing really enticing about my life, besides the fact that I have a devoted and wonderful boyfriend. He loves me, and deals with the craziness that is his girlfriend. Other than him, my life is pretty boring. School, sleep and work. Nothing sexier than a broke college student, working two days a week and sleeping the rest. The writer's block doesn't help with this situation. Instead of doing anything fun, I spend my days in a depressive state of school work and watching television. One could say I'm living the dream. This bump in the road is where this site comes in. Hopefully reading and writing on these forums will bring back the spark in me to write more thoroughly. I just love literature, and I don't want that love to burn out. With writing comes a strengthened mind and skill. What could be more rewarding than growing in technique while you're doing what you love? Haha, and yes, some may read this and be frustrated that there is no paragraphing. That doesn't matter, though, so long as the message gets across. |
