Author has written 5 stories for Harry Potter. Firstly, I'd like to address the question of how my name came to be "The Miserable." I'm only addressing this because Sirius asked me :) "The Miserable" is directly translated from Les Miserables, my favorite Broadway play. I particularly was fond of the title and the idea. Many a people have told me and my class (not just my group of friends, but my class of 600+ people) live the lives of Soap Stars... except for the stunningly beautiful tidbit. Every single one of my friends suffers in their own misery. They don't notice how lucky- beyond lucky- we are to live the lives of the Middle Class in America. We could be Untouchables in India, the poor in Grand Central Station, related to some freak of nature axe-murderer, been raped by a relative... the list goes on. We bitch about guys, and friends, and so on. I have friends who cheated on their high school girlfriends earlier this year, and others who concealed it from that girlfriend, supposedly their "best friend"I want to get away from all that, but that is what powers writing, and thus, "The Miserable." Harry is an escape. Here are a group of people who have every right to complain about their overly-dramatic lives... but don't. And that is why, for the most part, this will consist of Harry fics. These are the complex figures who I hold as role models. These people have substance. Someone tell me why they don't exist? |
