Author has written 1 story for Young Justice. As of right now, there is absolutely no reason for anyone to be reading this profile. However, I thought I’d get a jump on things and get at least the basics written down. Since you are probably reading this out of a strange desire to know something about me, I’ll get to the point. I’m a 20 year old senior in college (I’m an Accounting major, if it matters). Outside of school, pretty much all I do is read. And read some more. And, you guessed it, keep reading. With the exceptions of Moby Dick, Atlas Shrugged, and The Heart of Darkness, I have at least finished every book I’ve come across, so my tastes are pretty widespread. If I had to pick any particular genres, I suppose I’d say epic/high fantasy and historical fiction would be my favorites. Naturally, all of that reading has led me to fanfiction, since that’s frequently the only way to “revisit” certain characters without re-reading the same books. My tastes are a bit more particular for fanfiction, though. I almost exclusively read/write fanfiction for YA books and shows, and not the more adult books. LOTR fanfiction, for example, makes me wince because it is almost all infinitely more juvenile than the actual story. I have some particular thoughts about what fanfiction should be, but I won’t force them on anyone, I just won’t read stories I don’t want to read. My thoughts on fanfiction as a whole are pretty clear. For me, it is escapism. I could claim it is a number of things, but I see no reason to lie to myself. For a lot of people, it genuinely is an option to practice and improve their writing. For me, writing is never going to be a big thing; ergo: escapism. As far as fandoms, I spend a lot of my time in Alex Rider, Teen Titans, and Merlin, and the new Young Justice, though there is not much there yet. There is so much that can be done with those characters, so it’s a pleasure to see some of it. Obviously, I don’t stay exclusively within those, but they’re a big chunk of my time. I like darker stories, but murder/pillage/rape/plunder/be a pirate doesn’t necessarily make a story “dark.” Psychologically dark is my cup of tea. I do however enjoy some mockeries. I rarely get tired of Twilight mockeries, since it was just so awful it was funny. Anyway, while I currently don’t have any stories up, I’m writing a couple, and just waiting to get a bit further to start posting them. If you have any questions about me or suggestions for stories to read or write, don’t hesitate to PM me. |
