![]() Author has written 4 stories for Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. Hi, I'm a 32 year old aspiring film-maker from Idaho, I write fan-fiction mostly to keep my writing skills sharp; as well as get my fix for shows that have ended. I started writing Beginning of the End as a way to give the Slayer-verse what I considered a good sendoff. Once the comics came out in full force I kinda figured there was no point seeing as how the story was continuing. Seeing what they've done with it now though I've decided to keep writing it. Depending on how it's received I might keep a continuing storyline as long as I can think of ideas. As for the sequel to Altered State; I've often wondered where the best place to start a Spuffy story in season 4 would be; and I think A new man is the perfect opportunity. If Giles had learned to accept Spike as more than just a demon; perhaps he would have been more welcome in the group. It's also a chance to do a crossover with a another show in a very limited fashion; all I'll say is none of the characters from that show will appear; just the mythology. I also would like to address something that's been bugging me ever since we discovered who Twilight is in the comics. SPOILER ALERT* Bangel and Spuffy fans are the ultimate expression of an unmovable object meets an unstoppable force. Basically saying Bangel is like a big two ton weight weighing everything down. And Spuffy is like a tropical thunderstorm ready to go hurricane on your ass at the drop of a hat. Bangel is for the children at heart, the people who believe in the all consuming grand scale, all or nothing love. Spuffy is for the adults, a love of shared experience, pain and and an acceptance of faults. I don't like to get so snarky except even to this day all I see online is Bangel fans trying to say that Buffy didn't love Spike. I would just like to humbly say, BULLSHIT! If you need me to point out all the ways she loved him, you must have watched a different season seven. Just because it appears in the comics that Joss is back peddling in the mythos, doesn't change the story. After dealing with Star Wars mythology and expanded universe for twenty years; I could have no problem disregarding Season Eight as canon. But the tried and true moronic excuses people try and shove down your throat for why Bangel is destined will find their way into my story, and summarily get curb stomped The one thing I can't stand about these show creators is their complete lack of balls to alienate fans. You know what; I would have loathed Buffy choosing to be with Angel in the Series Finale. But at least it would have concluded the love triangle. So, in my humble opinion, Beginning of the End is how I view what would have happened next; of course because I'm not a real television writer or producer I can actually bring resolution to a story and not just pander to the masses. Here endeth the lesson. |
