![]() Author has written 20 stories for Last Ship, Chuck, Game of Thrones, Strike Back, Blindspot, Lucifer, and Punisher. I tend to write fanfiction when a particular scene or character gives me an idea, rather than being a shipper or particularly wedded to pairings or plotlines, but never say never! And while you would be excused for thinking that I only ever write about sex with characters played by Adam Baldwin, I swear it isn't so... Though yes, I am madly in love with Casey (from Chuck) and have a definite soft spot for Mike Slattery (The Last Ship)! Lately I've been writing a lot for The Last Ship, but I have a sequel to my Chuck fic in the works, and also plan to write more for Game of Thrones and other shows in the near future. Like most writers here, I love getting feedback, so please do leave a review or send me a message if you've enjoyed my stories. My Last Ship (TLS) stories, aka the 'Step' universe: a quick guide So it started with a one shot, but 175,000 words and 9 stories later, I guess you could say it spiralled. In terms of TLS timelines, The Last Step plays out against the background of seasons 2 and 3, and everything in the wider world happens just as it does in the show, with two key exceptions: firstly, Rachel doesn't get shot, so in the 'Step' universe, she's still alive and well, and of course this also means Tex doesn't leave St Louis. Secondly, Allison Shaw is unmasked just after Michener's death, so the James stays in Asia clearing up the mess there, while our other intrepid heroes help take care of the mess at home. In effect everything is truly AU from that point, and The Next Step starts once the James is back in St Louis around six months later. The stories: The Last Step - Rachel Scott and Mike Slattery hook up after the shattering events in Baltimore. It's a one time hurt/comfort kind of thing. Until it becomes something much, much more. The Next Step - Tom Chandler gets a kick up the ass to do something about his feelings for Sasha Cooper now they're back in St Louis. Trouble is, it's two steps forward and one step back for these two. Meanwhile, Mike and Rachel struggle with juggling family and career, Tex falls in love, and everyone tries to get on with life after the apocalypse. Step into Christmas, Last Christmas and The Valentine's Mis-Step are short fics that take place at unspecified points during the timespan of The Next Step. Kiss Me I’m Irish, and Step Fourth follow on from The Next Step as short standalone 'updates'. Small Spaces – this one is all about Wolf falling in love, but is set in the Step universe (mainly so that I can include Rachel, and in my head Rachel is with Mike, so…) Step Forward – A new multi-chapter Step story, taking the timeline further as Sasha, Rachel, Nina and Kat go to investigate a new threat on the west coast, and the men are left holding the babies. The couples: Mike and Rachel - there was always potential, admit it. But even they didn't realise that potential would turn into a secret love affair set against the backdrop of trying to find the cure and save the world. Oh, and with Tom's complete disapproval. Lucky they're both so stubborn... Tom and Sasha - they were in love, then they weren't, then fifteen years later they found each other again. It only took the end of the world to bring them back together. Tex and Nina - Nina is a war correspondent who knew Rachel through her kind-of-boyfriend, Michael [he gets mentioned a few times in seasons 1 and 2]. After the cure, she came to St Louis to find Rachel - the only person she knew who was still alive - and promptly fell in love with Tex. If there was ever a shining example of love at first sight, it's Nina and her 'Kansas'. |
