Post-Avengers. Odin, in his infinite wisdom, has decided to go for the poetic justice angle as far as Loki's punishment is concerned. For his attempt to enslave humanity, Loki has his magic and powers bound, and is sent back to Midgard and given over to Tony Stark to be his slave. Tony is none too happy about this arrangement. Loki has made some long bets in his time, but never before has he so desperately hoped to lose. Unfortunately, Thor never has been best at reading his brother. After Loki is punished for his crimes, he and Thor are sent back to Midgard to help the Avengers rebuild Manhattan. But when it becomes obvious that Loki is unwell physically as well as mentally, relationships are strained and healed as well as created. Rated T for the occasional language and frequent in-depth descriptions of illness and medical procedures.

Loki takes the low road, and Thor takes the high road. Yet in the end they both end up in the same place.

"You should never have been fool enough to trust me," Loki hissed while the mighty god of thunder writhed on the ground, blue eyes blown wide and his mouth hanging open in shock and pain. For once, the night was quiet, peaceful. No one wanted to travel in the wet weather, but still they stood, sat, waiting for the inevitable moment when the peace, the truce would end, and they would be forced to talk, to yell, to fight. They waited.

Thanos has arrived his forces poised to attack Earth and so the Avengers must join together once more to repel this new aggressor. But hidden from sight Loki has escaped his prison and is working and manipulating everyone to further his own agenda. The pieces have been set upon the board and the war is about to begin.

This is the sequel to my story "Loki of Asgard." Loki comes back to Earth with some information The Avengers need to know. They have to make a choice about the fate of Earth. If they exept his offer Earth may never be the same again.

Loki had every intention of wreaking havoc upon Midgard the moment his suicide attempt had failed, it was just too bad that Midgard ended up being so distracting. Who knew that such a primitive society would have such a novel concept as therapy?

AU. Loki, prince of Jotunheim, assisted Odin in the war in order to end it and was rewarded by being named Odin's blood-brother. Yet even among the Aesir he dreams of power and finds the best way to get it is through Thor. Eventual Thor/Loki.
