A fix, of sorts, for season 5 and the trauma inflicted by it. Not AU, but an alternative, if you wish to see it that way. Rayna Jaymes lives on.

Teddy was never a jealous man before he met Rayna Jaymes. She's back on tour with a freshly sober Deacon and he can't stand it, so he takes matters into his own misguided hands. One-shot, but will be part of a series of exploration of a theme, of sorts.

Rayna Jaymes is 16 when she meets Deacon Claybourne; she's navigating her way through her life, loving music, trying to catch hold of her only dream. Maybe Deacon Claybourne gives her a second dream.

It's the night before Rayna's first tour after giving birth to Maddie, and Deacon is back. Shifting gears has never been either one of their strong suits, but they're willing to give it a try, given the alternative.

Rayna, pregnant with Daphne, is on tour. Deacon's there, helping her the way a lover would, reminding her that everything is somehow backwards. He's the only one who can give her what she needs; the only one she wants to give her what she needs.

This story will follow Rayna & Deacon through their anniversaries; I guess there's not much else to say except there will be many of them, as they rightly deserve.

Deacon finally answers a question he's been asking himself for years about Rayna. "When it hurt to love her, it hurt the way the light hurts your eyes in the middle of the night. But I had to see, even through the ruin, if what we were burying were seeds."

For Rayna, it's been a while. Well. Longer than a while.

This story follows moments in Rayna & Deacon's relationship: their first autumn apart, their fourth date, their last fight, the aftermath, and a present-day (from season 1) moment that asks both of them to remember it all.

Come take a look behind the scenes (literally) of the much anticipated Deyna reunion. A missing scenes/fill in the gaps sort of story centered around Deacon, Rayna and their family as they finally live "a life that's good". Multi-chapter.
