Long ago, Pearl sacrificed herself to save Rose from a monster. But when she retreated into her gem, she took a bit of the monster with her. When the monster threatens to bring havoc once more, Steven and the Gems find that their greatest threat is now one of their own. Will they save the world, or fall at the sword of their friend?

When reports of a green-faced madman in Beach City rise, Lieutenant Kellaway comes to the city and finds himself teaming up with the Crystal Gems. But things get even crazier when one of the gems gets a little to curious with the madman's mysterious mask.

As he struggles to face his own mortality, his last remaining companion, "Pearl" will continue to guide him and find what he wants out of life.
