With all the centuries on Trenzalore and his subsequent regeneration, the debilitating pain had managed to compartmentalize itself away in the portion of his brain reserved for bow ties, tweed, and Ponds. But suddenly the opportunity was suddenly there, and he couldn't pass it up.

Fifteen years ago, River Song left her child, Renee Amelia Song, with her parents while she went on an expedition and didn't come back. Now, Renee finds her father, and they must attempt to save River from The Library.

River falls right into his life again without warning; fresh from Berlin and more lost than he's ever seen her. After a millennium the Doctor discovers that their story is far from over, and there are things he's yet to learn about her as their timelines coalesce once again. When she appears to seek out his latest incarnation, he realises that he's only now becoming her Doctor.

River Song has been removed from the database and plopped back into her life. However, those who rescued her are a mystery. The Doctor has regenerated and been without her for far too long. The reunion isn't as smooth as anyone would like, but a reunion it is.

River arches an eyebrow and waits, letting him dance around the console aimlessly. He's fidgety, more so than usual, and she can guess the reason why.
