![]() Author has written 2 stories for Vampire Knight, and Rise of the Guardians. Youkoso! Welcome! I shall state this upfront ... I don't usually like introductions or 'Tell us about yourself' situations. I'm better at answering questions and expressing opinions, but I'll give it a small try. First I wanna get the origins of my name straight, username mind you, since lots of people got interested over the forums and MMOs I've been to as to why DarkValkyrie and if it means that I'm embodying something evil - no, I'm not. You should blame Valkyrie Profile for getting me interested in the term 'valkyrie' because I just love what they did with this aspect of norse mythology. I know their interpretation isn't 100 accurate to what the legends/stories say, but that's just it. They took a completely different approach and taking in consideration how most legends have more than one version of the story, there shouldn't be a problem for creating something new. I try and use this name as often as I can, will probably become actual pen name in the future and it's curently the name of one of my stories' characters - story I won't upload here being an original work. So as I was saying, what the character and name DarkValkyrie embodies in my world is the image of the female warrior opposing the gods. As the story goes valkyries are under direct orders from Odin, living day by day in the presence of death. This paricular valkyrie wishes to break free from the chain and descends from Valhalla to seek a life amongst the mortals. Such actions would normally classify her as a traitor and ultimately as evil/sinful for going against the laws imposed. She doesn't wish to kill anymore or see the souls of dead warriors, but as such she was labelled as dark. Well she does appear cladded in dark armour, long purple hair - colour usually associated with royalty, mystery and spirituality. Because purple is derived from the mixing of a strong warm and strong cool color it has both warm and cool properties. Writer's Profile: Youtube Account: Click Here Age: 24 Principles of mine: You'll notice my taste in anime is diverse as I always try to keep an open mind to different genre. A quality I find in myself is that I see something good in almost every anime, the fact I may give it a low score is a result of other bad factors that were just emhasized too strongly. Yes, I do try to take in consideration an objective/ detached opinion most of the time. I may like a series a lot that others probably won't find revolutionary or that extraordinary, but don't forget the "it's either your thing or not" syndrome that travels with some series like Yu-Gi-Oh, Gundam (or mechas in general), Digimon, Gankutsuou etc. Please repsect others' opinions always ... when they of course, respect you in turn. Favorite animes: Code Geass, Eureka Seven, Shiki, Gankutsuou, Chrno Crusade, D.Gray-Man, Fate/Stay Night, Fullmetal Alchemist, CardCaptor Sakura, Gundam Seed, Jigoku Shoujo, Kaleido Star, Princess Tutu (actually quite good despite the name leading you to think otherwise), Rozen Maiden, Yu-Gi-Oh, Fairy Tail, Pandora Hearts Ask me if you care for a particular series. Favorite mangas: Alice 19th, Bloody Kiss, Count Cain (Cain Saga Godchild), Chrno Crusade, D.Gray-Man, Death Note, Dengeki Daisy, Fairy Cube, Fruits Basket, Hellsing, Hot Gimmick, Yu-Gi-Oh, Kare First Love, Absolute Boyfriend, Vampire Knight, Shugo Chara!, 1/2 Prince, Fairy Tail, Pandora Hearts etc ... okay I got lazy halfway through. Ask me if you care for a particular series. Why I love video games? I consider them a work of art, just like animes. I especially love j-rpgs because they always seem to charm me with their story - even if it starts out cliche-, the way events progress and the presentation that has a great impact on me. Jrpgs also have some great character designs. I mean anything that was created by the hands of man, with the purpose of reproducing and breathing life to a whole new world never seen before deserves the term of art. The characters can move you to either tears, joy or excitement or all of them together. And yeah, big fantasy (the general genre) fan here folks. Favorite Videogames: Persona 3 & 4, Final Fantasy 8/ 7/ X, Kingdom Hearts series, Bayonetta, Devil May Cry series, Resident Evil (2, 3 & 4), Valkyrie Profile 1 & 2, Rogue Galaxy, The Longest Journey, Dreamfall The Longest Journey, Shadow of the Colossus, Fatal Frame series, Haunting Grounds, Assassin's Creed ... Ask me if you care for a particular series. MMOs (online games): One of the things I like about MMOs is the fact you become a part of that world designed by man that I told you about and you can carry on your own story -or imagine it atleast. It's like you become a video game character yourself and can explore all sorts of places and meet people. I like to daydream a lot and I usually dream about a story centered around my characters. It's a good thing since it helps my imagination and inspiration. I am picky about which I want to stick with though. Tried a few, but some didn't catch on to me. Curently I have a thing for Fiesta and yes, I like its fun and cute style, plus the anime oriented graphics and chibi style characters (they're chibi, but yet not too much ... very hard to specify, you have to see it for yourself). I may visit Ether Saga Odyssey sometimes. Am planning to conquer Guild Wars 2 when it arrives. Music: I usually listen to rock, j-rock, j-pop and some pop - dance now and then, depending on my mood. When I wanna daydream about something fun and happy, put a dance or fun song. When thinking of something serious, put a darker, serious song. They are inspirational in many cases and I am open-minded, but if the lyrics just won't do even in a funny amv idea, then no. Some of my favorite bands/singers are: Plumb, Celldweller 30 Seconds to Mars, Skillet, Breaking Benjamin, Within Temptation, Evanescence, Wakashima Kanon, Poets of the Fall, X-Ray Dog, Two Stemps from Hell, Gazette, Gackt, Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada Hikaru and various songs from animes (openings, endings, insert songs and others). I often listen to instrumental songs from anime and videogames soundtracks. I guess as you can tell I'm mostly concentrated on story, writting and admiring the design and athmosphere of a world. My drawing abilities aren't that good though. Not sure I have anymore time to improve, but writting won't kill me :p Life Goal: To become a writter, seeing my works in different forms of media from anime to videogames and novels loved by the people. I'm using fanfiction for the fans as well as myself to practice. Current Fanfics Hot N' Cold (Vampire Knight) : Adventure/ Romance/ Supernatural/ Suspense |
