Occupation: Full-time scientist, part-time writer and musician

So what exactly do you do?: I'm a parasitologist. Tapeworms specifically, if I'm going to be honest. Yes, I love my job. No, I obviously don't think tapeworms are disgusting.

So why write fanfiction? And what's this musician business?: Despite my predominantly left-brain orientation, growing up I spent a lot of time writing and playing music (because I had no social life and science experiments have limitations when you're 12). So it became a passion of mine, and a great outlet for when my brain is overloaded and I need a break. So I write fanfiction and play bass/perform vocals in a folk group and a lo-fi shoegaze band thing.

Fandoms?: I only write fanfiction for Sherlock. Maybe one day I'll venture out, but as of now the Sherlock verse is honestly the only one I feel a deep enough connection with to stimulate fanfiction writing.

That's the only other social media site I use. No facebook, twatter, or whatever nonsense there is. And be warned, my tumblr is mostly angst, drugs, trees, and Sherlock. With some science thrown in for good measure. Don't say I didn't warn you, consider this a trigger warning.
