![]() Author has written 8 stories for Legend of Zelda, Doctor Who, Kirby, Star Trek: 2009, Pokémon, Teen Titans, and Adventure Time with Finn and Jake. Greetings! I am kirbyfan1996. Now back in school, I have been busy on senior year which means even harder and more frequent homework and my college applications, but I will try to write as much as possible. Check back every so often or so. You never know if I've found enough time to get a new chapter in or even a new story. About Me Name: If you're too lazy to type kirbyfan1996, just refer to me as Kirby. Age: Not telling. Proudly made in the USA! Favorite Video Game Series: Sonic the Hedgehog Favorite Video Game: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Favorite Character in Super Smash Bros.: Kirby Favorite TV Series: Doctor Who Favorite Sports Team: New Orleans Saints (NFL) Check out my portfolio on Writing.Com: Current List of Stories The Legend of Zelda: Shadow Realm: (in progress, on hiatus) Hyrule faces the return of its darkest threat, and it threatens the very existence of the universe. Can Mario, Sonic, and Kirby help Link destroy the ancient evil once and for all? Crossover for LoZ, Mario, Sonic, and Kirby. Making New Memories: (complete) There's a time for remembering the past and a time for making new memories. With memories in my mind from this picture, I couldn't resist writing... Return to Koholint Island: (complete) One girl finds her long lost friend, but maybe he's not the one she seeks...and the key to saving Hyrule lies in an island that never existed, yet was always real... (preview for The Legend of Zelda: Shadow Realm) A Trek to the Heart: (in progress, on hiatus) A new evil threatens Ripple Star, and Kirby's journey will involve more than just a fight against evil...a prequel to my main fanfic, The Legend of Zelda: Shadow Realm. A Family Outing: (in progress) The Doctor takes Amy and Rory to an unusual place for Christmas, a world full of creatures known as Pokémon. Then again, with an evil organization out to conquer it, it just might be another typical family outing for them. (Second of a loose trilogy of fics.) The Mystery of Terra: (in progress) The girl of his dreams was lost long ago, so who is that girl who looks exactly like her? The only one who may have the answer is a madman with a box... (First of a loose trilogy of fics.) Rekindling the Flame: (in progress) Although she said that she wasn't in love anymore, her heart told her otherwise. Although he said he was over her, his heart told a different tale. As an old foe of his begins his final plot to destroy all life, it is up to a madman in a box to defeat the evil one and rekindle the flame between the two teenagers. (Third of a loose trilogy of fics.) The Doctor Was Here: (complete) Nero survived...but not for long. The Most Important Thing in a Great Fanfic (According to Me) It could be canon. The signature mark of a great fanfic, in my opinion, is that it makes you think it not only could, but should happen. I may be a bit hypocritical considering I have a crossover with the Legend of Zelda, Kirby, Mario, and Sonic. However, I will remain as true to canon as possible. Naturally, it is impossible to create a piece that reflects what will really occur in a new story; however, I'd like to be able to read a piece and think to myself, "Self, why hasn't (insert company name here) done something like this yet?" Crossovers can be harder to manage, but there are some brands that are easier to use than others. It is hard, for example, to blend the Legend of Zelda, Kirby, Mario, and Sonic because they're not all designed to be universal. It is much easier to crossover Doctor Who with anything because Doctor Who is designed for universal exploration. Pairings This might just be me, but I also like it when the hero finds love. It makes the hero more realistic, as long as it doesn't overwhelm the story or make no sense at all. A well-developed pairing adds great depth to the story, especially if it were an unlikely but possible one. Example of a good pairing: Link and Romani in http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4579411/1/Trapped-in-Termina (It is well-developed, well-written, and, though not exactly canon, resolves conflicts with canon easily. There are few LinkXRomani fics, but those that exist tend to be great.) Example of a bad pairing: OOT Link and Zelda (In the Zelda timeline, Link dies in the Downfall Timeline and disappears from the Adult Timeline. In the Child Timeline, the Link in Twilight Princess is the descendant of OOT Link, meaning that this pairing could not have happened at all since otherwise TP Link would have been part of the Royal Family. There happen to be a LOT of LinkXZelda fics, meaning that it gets tired quickly and that many of them are not well written.) Those that conflict with canon relationships must find a way to not only reconcile differences with canon, but also transcend them and create a narrative that I could take as true. Example: 11th Doctor and Hermione Granger in http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7102418/1/Hermione-s-Song (This threw me for a curve, given the canon relationship between the 11th Doctor and River Song, but the author reconciles this by...(stops talking and grins mischeviously) but, as River would say, Spoilers...) And if you do create a pairing that breaks with canon, at least try to give respect to all the characters. (ie. If you ship Harry Potter with anyone else, don't turn Ginny Weasley into a bitch.) I am a sucker for the childhood friendship that becomes something more. I don't know why, I just do. It's why my favorite pairings in LoZ are LinkXSaria and LinkXIlia. My Favorite Doctor I had never heard of Doctor Who before in my life until I just happened to catch an advertisement on another channel. The first full episode I watched was The Eleventh Hour, and I instantly became hooked, studying the classic series and watching reruns of the previous four seasons while keeping up with Matt Smith, the 11th Doctor. Overall, I am under the impression that Tom Baker, Peter Davison, and David Tennant best performed their roles as the 4th, 5th, and 10th Doctors respectively, all giving the series golden years. However, my favorite Doctor will always be Matt Smith mostly because he seems to be the most complete Doctor and the most fun to travel with. He defined the role with certainty as a madman with a box and brought Doctor Who to so many Americans, a sharp contrast to when Christopher Eccleston, the 9th Doctor, had his tenure in the first season of the revived series broadcast on the Syfy Channel (not even on BBC America!). The 11th Doctor, at once child-like and ancient and all-knowing and clueless, is certainly an impressionable character. I miss him already, but I'm looking forward to Peter Capaldi's run as the 12th Doctor. |
