![]() Author has written 1 story for Dawn of the Dead, and Zombie Survival Guide. Aye there, my name is Danny. You don't need my last name =). I'm 19 years old and from the good ol USA. I'm a Christian that enjoys reading about a large variety of subjects. I'm very out-doorsy so adventure stories tend to apeal to me. I try to be open minded and tolerate all forms of imagination but I particually love original thoughts and ideas, things that make me think, feel, or question. I've mainly created this accound to observe writtting and make constructive critiques, never in a disrespectfull way of course. I will be writting at least one story but I mainly enjoy to read other writter's work on here. Feel free to ask my opinion on your writting in what ever form it may be in, but I have more interest in scifi and survivalistic type writting though I have a soft spot for love stories on occaision when they are'nt cliche or overly corny "all love stories are corny to an extent" but there is such a thing as overly corny lol. Mainly the only fictions I've read on here so far have been Zombie fictions and Terminator fictions. I'm a die-hard zombie survivalist ( A member of the Global Zombie Outbreak Survivor Initiative, yes we do exist). I'm a really outdoorsy hands on gun-toting type guy so those types of suspenseful action filled stories are very apealing to me. Really any story that paints such a clear image that I can imagine myself in that situation and forces me to ask myself, "What would I do?", has succeeded as far as I'm concerned. I rarely ever like telivision but The Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles was one of the most amazing shows I've ever seen, thus I have a great deal of love for it. The love stories thing is just natural to me, but I really do hate it when writters over-do, over-exagerate, over-state the love story, subtlety is beautiful in these stories, cliches are nothing but a waste of my time to me =. Advice, 3d's of writting a good long term story. Develop, develop your characters thouroughly, make the reader feel like they know your character, unless the character is mysterious in which case that in and of its self is a development. Develop the story, explain what's going on, why it's going on and so on untill a clear picture has been developed. Detail, Go through your work with a fine tooth comb and correct any continuity errors (someone like me will notice them in your story). Also detail the characters, it makes it easier to paint a mental image in one's mind of how the characters look which makes it all the easier to get into the story. Depth, this one isn't always a guranteed part of a good story but boy does it make it a lot better. Writting is art and good art makes you feel, question, or think. So don't write shallow stories make them evoke one or more of the three things I mentioned. All that said I am currently working on the beggening stages of my own Apocolpyse story, Inspired by my dreams and nightmares. Let me say it will take forever just to get started, but I know my stuff so believe me it will be epic! |
