GIANT LIFE UPDATE. Haven't updated my story "Oh, Baby!" in quite some time. Unfortunately life has found a way of keeping me occupied, and not with writing new chapters. Here's what's been going on in my life (AKA, my excuses ;)):

I moved back to America from Japan. Whew, what a process! There's a lot of "paperwork" and "red tape" to get through, from cancelling my internet service, to paying my last utility bills, to cancelling cell service, to working out taxes and pension, not to mention several goodbye parties at all my schools and with my fellow teachers. On top of that, I had to clean my apartment/sell my furniture, send boxes of clothes and possessions home, and then get myself to the airport for that brutal 13 hour flight. (And that is simplifying it all beyond belief!)

Once I got home there was welcome home parties, job hunting, reverse culture shock, and jet lag to get over while I fretted about my to-do list (most importantly, get a job and a car!). After a month of general wallowing and worrying about the future, I finally made some progress: I found a job in a city...six hours from home. So, I moved. AGAIN.

Once I moved and started my job immediately, it was all about finding a place to live, buying a car, furnishing my apartment (I couldn't BELIEVE how much stuff you need!), and working.

Needless to say, I've been busy. Mix in a good bit of socializing, family emergencies, and small bouts of depression/lack of motivation from the reverse culture shock, and it hasn't been a good environment for writing or even caring about writing. BUT, I'm here to say that I haven't forgotten this story and I intend to keep writing as soon as I can. Stay tuned, and thanks for the patience.

UPDATE #2: To all the kind readers who've kept up with and reviewed "Oh Baby!", I'd like to say thank you. You've all been extremely patient and said many kind things about my story. However, I'm posting this update to announce that I'll no longer be working on this story. You know how sometimes, you start a story in a certain headspace, and then months and months later, you're no longer in the same headspace? How hard it makes it to figure out what your intent was/where you were going with things? That's kind of where I'm at with "Oh, Baby!" It was an impulsive story that I didn't fully plan out - and the story was changing and changing as I wrote it. Was it a lighthearted romance (like it started out?) or a drama (which it was slowly becoming)? Was it Kagome/Inuyasha...or Kagome/Kouga? Every chapter I've tried to write in the last month or so has ended up being overwhelmingly Kagome/Kouga. In short, this story was poorly thought out. I wasn't sure how it would develop or even how it would end, and the sloppiness of which it was conceived has finally caught up to me. I can't, in good faith, continue to post chapters knowing that it may not even be the story that fits the summary, the pairing, the rating, anything. And after going back and reading it, the plot seems shallow and far-fetched, to say the least. Therefore, I'll be working on new stories that I can commit to finishing. Stories that I have outlines for and endings for. Anyone is free to continue this story, if they wish, but I don't see myself updating it any time soon. Apologies to anyone who got super attached/interested. I promise, all the hype was unfounded, as I didn't have any mind-blowing chapters planned for you. Thanks again for reading. I hope my future stories will make up for the failure of "Oh, Baby!" ALSO - for now, I'll be leaving "Oh, Baby!" up...but it will most likely get deleted as soon as I begin posting a new story. -callmegwen
