The company is attacked by orcs and splits up in order to try and evade them. Now they have to use all their skill in order to survive Azog's minions and regroup together before any real damage is done. No slash.

Kíli was the youngest; he was of Durin's line, so he was strong and could endure much but injuries early on in the quest lead to more later on, though the quiet strength he wields pushes him to persevere with his injuries. Thorin is equally concerned and proud of Kíli, who had proven much to everyone. He just asked why it always had to be Kíli. Injured Kíli, protective Fíli/Thorin.

When scouting ahead, Fili and Kili run into some trouble and find themselves injured with no way to get back to the company. Some Kili wump with protective older brother Fili!

Kili has decided that Fili needs to learn archery, but a mishap puts Kili's life in grave danger. No slash.

The incident with the trolls wasn't that serious was it? He and Fili truely did nothing wrong! How the ponies were taken, he didn't know! If this was so, however, then what has Thorin, overcome with anger, hurting his youngest nephew to the point where he is begging to not die at his Uncles hands? Warning: Violence
