It was a normal day for the Avengers—well, at least for them it is. Small explosions can be heard from the lab where Bruce and Tony worked, thumps, kicks and bumps from the gym where Natasha and Clint trained, Sam flying around the tower, and Steve and Thor were fighting holographic aliens in the simulation room.

That afternoon, they were scattered around the recreation room. It was a Sunday after all, they make it to a point to at least bond. Tony and Clint were playing Xbox and were shouting at each other, Sam and Bruce played billiards and were occasionally watching basketball with Thor who was eating poptarts and yelling "That team with a flaming ball logo shall win!" Steve and Natasha, however, were playing a hard match of table tennis.

"So, how did it go last night?" Natasha asked casually and whipped the ball to him.

"Seriously? It was awful." Steve cringed at the memory of the date that Natasha had once again set him up.

Natasha laughed at him, resulting the ball to bounce off the board. She caught it swiftly from the floor and hit it back. "Define awful."

Steve shrugged and caught the orange ball in his hands and bounced it to her. "Well, she was very talkative and extremely vulgar, see."

"And? If you forgot, it's the twenty first century."

"Yeah, I know. I mean, that, I could handle, but when she started picking her nose right in front me that did it. That certainly did it."

Natasha laughed once again, this time, the ball bounced away to where Tony and Clint were playing. "Hey Redhead, hit better next time!" Tony yelled at her and threw the ball back at her. Steve caught it this time as Natasha laughed harder.

"It's not funny." Steve said with a frown and started to hit.

"Alright, fine, I'll just look for someone more decent." Natasha finally said, composing herself but still had a slight grin and resumed playing.

Steve couldn't help but sigh in annoyance. "Why don't you just stop? If it's for me, then it will come for me. There's no use in forcing it." Steve reasoned out. "It'll eventually be there."

Natasha quirked an eyebrow at him. "So, do you think that someone is already in your life?"

This left Steve in thought. Yeah, what if? It was a pretty much good question. Steve knew a fair amount of women in his life, Natasha being one of them, but he all treated them as his friends and vice versa, it certainly can't be her or Maria or Sharon, for that matter.

"Well, I certainly won't know, right?" Was Steve's simple answer. Natasha nodded and had been silent for a while, her eyes deep in wonder. Steve couldn't help notice the way her body gracefully moved as she played, focused and determined, all while her thoughts seemed to wander off. Steve truly admired how she can be so coordinated and unfocused at the same time.

After a few rounds, both Steve and Natasha scored a tie and decided to retire at the kitchen for some snacks. Steve was perched on the counter, munching on some biscuits while sipping Coke. Natasha ate some chips when the others joined them and rummaged through the drawers to find something to eat. After eating, they went to the living room where they found the others.

"So, are we just gonna sulk here the whole day?" Sam asked, bored. "Fury didn't give us any missions whatsoever anyway."

Tony nodded as he sat on a recliner and ate blueberries. "Right, and a party doesn't sound so bad." He said suggestively.

"Exactly. Maybe we should live up a little while we're mission-free." Clint added, agreeing.

"Oh, and how about Pepper?" Steve tells Tony. Tony shrugged and sipped from his soda. "She'll be flying back home tomorrow afternoon anyway."
