Well, I write all the time just for the sheer hell of it. Writing does not interfere with my life, and only enhances my literary capabilites. Thus I go on writing.

My favourite books, naturally all from the Forgotten Realms collection, are:

Prince of Lies = Because there isn't enough stories about madmen who are actually insain and not just some bi-product of a 'badguy' cliche.
Elminster: The making of a Mage = Most definately the best of the "broad time" concept of writing. Where a great deal is told in only 400 pages or so.
Azure Bonds: Balanced and entertaining, with a writing style that was consistant and refrained from becoming repetitive.

All of these books (and the other dozens and dozens of FR books I own) have influenced my own writing format. And I hope, that they have influenced my capabilities for the better.
