![]() Author has written 17 stories for Harry Potter, Ninja Turtles, Dead Like Me, and Dresden Files. My 'Verse I write within the 2007 CGI verse, with influences from the 2003 cartoon, 1989 original movie, and the 1984 V1 comics by Laird and Eastman, though I have not yet read them all. The verse takes many alternate trails, but operates on a common assumption of a child history for the turtles developed throughout Of Honor and Innocence (Chapter: Tsubaki), the interludes in Walking the Line, Chapter 19 of WTL: Damnation, "Umi no Uta," and my progressing series of short stories within WTL (or just know as Trilogy) verse, including "Old World and the New." The semi-serious slash fic A Glass Darkling is another of the number sharing the history of WTL. And just know: you haven't seen the last of this verse with the end of WTL: Salvation. This is my most well-developed verse, but shortly expect another to join its number. While I rate most of my fics T for teens, please know that they are best suited for mature teens and adults; nothing happens in the first two fics in my Trilogy other than cussing, though to continue into WTL, one ought to be a little older. Other works by me You'll see a number of completed Harry Potter fics below, both finished and unfinished; while I love them like children, I do not intend to return to them and am no longer a member of the HP fandom. I occasionally guest write chapters or segments for Kytyngurl2 and Tori Angeli (The Halfway Point--go read it!), who are my fellow Terrapin Tarts. I have also been given permission by fellow Tart Winnychan to write a couple fics within her Influence verse, which I am excitedly anticipating. On my own site you will find the alternate Chapter 15 and on of Walking the Line; the version here known as Salvation and the version found at the bottom of my own site known as Damnation. About me My pen name is Aubretia Lycania, nicknamed Aub, and I am a member of the fantastic Terrapin Tarts, a small TMNT community full of snarky, fun and RP-loving writers and artists, where I play Leo, the Ancient One, a demon or two, and puppet Raphael while a friend is out sick. I am 21, a co-oper, environmentalist, proficient in Japanese, a general otaku, and a sketcher, though I do it far less these days. I am a senior at UCLA in fabulous Los Angeles, California, I play DDR on the Santa Monica pier, and even my RL friends are fanfic writers. My majors are English and Japanese literature, and I have seven sisters and two nieces. I have three older and four younger siblings. Visit my twin sister, Susie Bones, and my fellow UCLA-ites, Lanenkar and Morosetintedglasses, at their FF.net handle pages for more great fic. I write long fiction, typically both entertaining and reflective, with an emphasis on exploring complex characters. I see this in two lights: 1.) An exercise in exploring characterization using already-established characters to engage in an internet-wide shared phenomena, and 2.) Observing this phenomena as a very particular and intricate form of literary criticism. Thus, I appreciate all feedback that can be given as well as any ideas you may have. Sharing is the keystone of this phenomena. As I said, I go to UCLA and there is a reason I write fanfiction: I truly believe it to be important to my writing, no matter what my formalist professors may say. I plan to carry these studies into graduate school at Berkeley, UCLA, or UCI. I invite you to enjoy my fiction; you can also find a very small selection of my work at fictionpress and at my website above. If there are any requests to read anything else, tell me and I will put up selections. Thanks for reading! --2007 Fanfic Competition Awards: My trilogy for Best Series, first place; Umi no Uta for Best Chibi, first place; Of Honor and Innocence for Best Leonardo Scene, third place; and Best New Writer 2007, third place. My thanks to everyone who nominated and voted for me, as well as all the other awesome writers who placed in that comp, and a special congrats to my buddies Winny and Tori for their awesome showing in the awards. Thank you! I will not fail in my purpose of quality fic and hope everyone enjoys my projects this coming year.-- Aubretia Lycania 4-10-2008 |
