![]() Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter. AraiyaLinn here, thanks so very much for stopping by. About myself: I have a tendency of over using commas and a disinterest in author's notes. I have a love-hate relationship with original characters in fan fiction and a fondness for stories that unravel slowly. I enjoy romantic tensions more than conclusions. I am bored with angst-ridden stories, and sad endings leave me feeling unsatisfied. I am excited by original fan fiction ideas, and summaries must be eye catching if I am to read the story. I have admiration for authors that take time to come up with titles for every chapter and create banners for their stories. I have an obsession with Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift. I would live on the beach and sun bath all day if I wasn't required to be a productive member of society. I am a bit of a self-imposed hermit, but cherish the hand full of friends I do have. I am American and thus know American geography, culture and discourse. I have an obsession with dogs that becomes apparent within minutes of meeting me. As for my own writing: I hate posting things that I haven't yet finished. The plots must be developed and written down before I begin with the first chapter (even if its just in the abstract). Every character, no matter how secondary (or tertiary) must be developed. Holes in the plot frustrate me, no matter how small the loose thread may be. I write in a stream of conscious and then fix grammar mistakes later. This often frustrates me because I lose my train of thought for conclusions I want characters to draw. On the other hand, this means my characters often develop personalities that are as surprising to me as they are to everyone else. I acknowledge that my thoughts are not as apparent to others as they are to myself. Thus, I try to explain every action my characters take to the best of my ability so that it is logical to my audience (sometimes I fail at this endeavor). Try as I might, I cannot focus on a singular plot. My mind comes up with new ideas all the time, and part of my paranoid mind is constantly worried that if I don't write them down I will forget them and be upset with myself later. My commute is almost forty-five minutes long, and I spend most of it daydreaming about plot lines. Luckily, I live in one of the most public-transportation-friendly cities in the world, so no one has to worry about the consequences of my distracted mind but myself. Usually, images of a scene for a story assault me before a plot develops. If the fan fiction takes place during the same time frame as the original story, I like to make it as different as possible. It's no fun for readers to essentially have the same thing written as the original work. Current Works: Pomegranate Seeds (HP): “I beg to differ,” Persephone said coldly. “Gods and goddesses are very much real, and very much alive. And, so long as people continue to talk about us and our deeds we will continue to thrive.” Harry Potter isn't what he seems, and the wizarding world won't be prepared for what he's about to become. A secret heritage that no one knew about may be Harry's only chance to defeat Voldemort. But inheritances like his needs to be trained. Sorry Hogwarts, Harry's attending a school for the elite. As per step-mother's insistence. Warning: There is an abundance of OCs. As more progress is made in writing this story, more warnings will be posted here. Thoughts: I have an outline for all seven years of 'Pomegranate Seeds'. It's all rather well developed, though I'll admit that the images that most often come to mind are those for Harry's sixth year. However, 'Pomegranate Seeds' is Harry's first year. The other titles of the arcs are (roughly) as follows: Year Two: 'Fox's Fire', Year Three: 'Trickster's Fool', Year Four: 'Hero's Revenge', Year Five: 'Seraphim's Wrath', Year Six: 'Hades' Heir' Year Seven: 'Persephone's Child'. |
